It was a very nice, small used bookstore with an unusual selection of new literary books. The coffee was also good (though no indoor seating). However, it is no more, and the location has been cleaned out. The owners have opened Dutchess Coffee in Brattleboro, but no used books.
I do my Christmas/Birthday shopping for my father here and everything has been a huge it Thank you Oh by the way the smell of fresh coffee is a hit as well.
This is the best coffee in the area. Lovely selection of books… they can order any book you want.
Great coffee and good local bookstore. However, drove up to Putney today, during posted business hours, the place was closed. I've tried calling a couple of times and nothing.
So grateful to have this gem right in our town. A wonderful place full of charm with a great selection of books plus delicious drinks. They serve their own organic, fair trade coffee plus organic matcha and organic chai.
Delicious, thoughtfully sourced & prepared coffees. Great new & used books selection. Perfect place to spend some time on the weekend, or for takeaway drinks while exploring southern Vermont. Definitely visit!

Found some great used books at good prices. Try the coffee while you're there, it's terrific. This place is a real treasure.
I ordered two packages of roasted coffee, because I heard good things about the coffee from a friend of mine that lives there. The Peruvian coffee [Amor Eterno] one of the greatest things I've ever tasted... it was also well packaged and shipped in a timely manner.

It's cute and welcoming, but the books are limited and the chai has very little flavor.
Stumbled upon this adorable bookshop/coffee shop on the way home from NH; such a cozy place filled with interesting books at very fair prices. Also (most importantly?) they have really solid coffee, roasted just across the street. The only thing that’s missing is a few more places to sit and drink the coffee. I’d go back for sure next time I’m near Putney.
I'm so glad that this bookstore is close to my home. They have a great collection of used books at good prices, including an inclusive children's section. They also have espresso and frequently host public events (which friends have enjoyed but I haven't made it to one yet). Worth a trip.

Interesting selection of books. Small and intimate. Had a great shot of espresso. Going to try the chai next time. Can't wait to go back. Will definitely go to poetry reading events.

Great find! Really helpful staff with great recommendations. Also their selection of books, particularly Latin American authors in translation, is quite extensive. Great mix of used and new books. Highly suggest that any bibliophiles in the area check it out because they will not be disappointed!
