I love 802 coffee but since my trips to Montpelier have decreased I haven't been able to go in as often. And so when I do it's actually a really great treat for me. I ordered a chai and a bagel. My name was called and I went up to get my items and on the counter was my bagel and a 16 oz cup. Thinking that it was my chai I grabbed both items and started walking away. The barista yelled toward me and said you have the wrong coffee. That's for Jackie and as I brought it back she said in a very loud condescending way. "That's why I said Jacky !" I apologized . I wasnt about to explain that I have a brain tumor and have lost the hearing on my right side. I don't always hear clearly. I am a chef. I get it. Being a front end barista I'm sure can be exhausting but the shop was not busy at all. It was 11:30 on a Tues. When something like this happens I usually just brush it off and go about my day but this just kind of ruined my day cause it was just kind of mean.

We've been on a household mission to try each Vermont roaster over the months and years, while circling back and purchasing new additions to favorite roasters. 802 Coffee made our list after I found and bought a bag of Bernie's Beans and quickly found that blend taking #1 spot over the Tanzanian peaberry that was our favorite. We bought four more bags to try and today's dark roast is exceptional.
802 Coffee has some of the best quality light roast coffee I've had in Vermont and it's my family's favorite for at-home brewing! I ordered online for the first time today at around 7:00 am and had my coffee beans delivered to my doorstep an hour and a half later - really great service. Thank you!
Best coffee in the world
We stopped in here after seeing their coffee at Capitol Grounds and wanting to go to the source. Baristas were incredibly kind, explaining the differences between the beans and letting us try the coffees prepared for the day. We bought some beans and will be buying more in the future!
Please don't let the Google photo of the old auto shop keep you away. The outside of the shop is beautiful and they have the best coffee around.
We live right nearby and my husband picks us up coffee almost daily. Good strong coffee and friendly staff!
