Small cafe, but amazing food and great people
If your family is over 2 they will refuse to serve you. We were told to leave with a family of 6.
The good: Inexpensive, basic comfort food. The staff are friendly and nice. Portion sizes are good. There is rarely wait to get in. This place is very local. The kind of place where the old guys hang out and have coffee while visiting. The bad: The coffee is not so good. Food isn't of the highest quality, but it's fair for the price. They can get political in here. Very right wing and very anti-vaxx. I just want to eat a meal without hearing that stuff.
Great food and service. 22 year regular.
The sign above the door said "This is where the locals eat." And another sign said, "Adult Daycare." Great food, great prices, lovely waitress & comfortable ambiance. Great place to meet friends or eat before a road trip!
Waited 45 mins for food. There was still 2 tables ahead of us who hadn’t gotten their food yet. We ended up leaving. I was not going to wait another 20 mins to get my food. It wasn’t even busy when we got there so I don’t understand what the issue was.
Hometown favorite. Homestyle cooking. Never been disappointed with my meal.
This restaurant was such a welcomed surprise. From the moment you enter the unique decor gives throws you a curve ball but they completely make up for it with amazing and fast service, and amazing food. The food had all the taste of an amazing home cooked meal with none of the effort! It was even the quickest service my wife and I have ever had. We were in and out in about 30 min and went straight home to take a nap because the food was incredible! Not only that but it was probably one of the most affordable breakfasts I've ever paid for and thats after a 50% tip. I'm definitely coming back to try out the other menu options because this was such a great first impression!
I absolutely adore this place darling! The ambiance was absolutely stunning😍. The workers were among some of the kindest I've had the pleasure of interacting with and the food... was absolutely marvelous ✨️. If you truly want to feel at home, come and join us at tangies love. We are there every Monday morning at about 7:45 am. I hope to see you there. Much love ❤️
Clearly, anyone who eats here and loves it are chain smokers. The food is so salty. The ham had added salt to the point it was inedible, even when taking small bites with my other food... The "Blueberry" syrup was sour, and the "maple" syrup tasted like sure sugar.... The chicken fried Stake gravey was made with cornstarch, not flower.... The service was... not great.... My toddler was served his good last.... and they didn't bring him anything to drink, like what????
Good food good people. Nice laid back. Place with food my picky eaters actually eat at. We usually get a mix of breakfast and lunch stuff or even dinner depending on who goes. Kids lunch or dinner. Me dinner or breakfast. My dad depends on time we go. The Garbage Hasbrowns are my go to with extra cheese its got a bit of everything in it but it is made when you order it.
I loved this place! If you like the feeling of happiness and the atmosphere of an old diner then come here to eat. They have a good variety of classic diner food the service is right on point. We met an awesome person, and had a great talk about the culture of the city with him.
Let's start with the good. The service was pleasant. Now for the not so great. The food was pretty terrible, and I was very hungry after my run, so not finishing it, I knew it was bad. Now the really bad... the dining room is carpeted!! Why, oh why? Picturing a kid spilling milk, or trying to clean up eggs out of there. Just no.
Tangies is great if you are looking for an old fashioned, down home, everyone knows your name vibe. The inside of the place is run down but that is a part of the vibe. The food is made with love but nothing outside of the ordinary. If you are wanting a warm meal at a good price, this place is perfect.
It's been almost 10 years since I ate here and... family that was too long. Amazing comfort food at very fair prices. After 19 years this place is becoming one of AFs staple restaurant's. Been here twice this weekend, once for breakfast and once at lunch. Great, friendly service, really good food at a very fair price. WINNER
Small cafe. Lots of old timers. Friendly. Clean. And great food. Going back for Cod fish and chips for lunch
Good food great staff happy consumer!
Best breakfast around. Great home town local Cafe. Make sure to get the sausage.
We live in the next city over, have heard positive things about this place, so decided to give it a shot. Pretty run down inside, but I can look past that, although a little cleaning and organizing is relatively easy to do... The food was, to be as fair as I can, disgusting. Scrambled eggs should not be browned! That's considered burnt! If preferred that way, fine, but serving them that way, no. The toast was from the cheapest loaf money can buy, and the only positive thing about it is that they buttered it. Thin and dry. Hamburger steak looked like dry shoe leather. I'd be embarrassed to serve it, and I can't believe the cook thought it was fine, and the waitress thought it was fine to serve. This place specializes in breakfast; how can they be so bad? I'd hate to see how bad the regular customer's home cooking is if they're coming here for better food. Skip this place, and opt for Jim's Family Restaurant just a mile or so east. Bigger menu, far better quality, and similar pricing. Why anyone would choose Tangies is beyond comprehension.
Diners are meant to be slower-paced, and I love supporting local food, but I've tried going here and they just ignored us for a bizarrely long time 😅 If you try it, you might wait 40 minutes while watching other people eat who came in long after you did. It was weird!
