Bill, Valynda, and the other members of the Far Flung team were all amazing. When planning on kayaking, Valynda was incredibly honest about the low water conditions and what we’d expect and even offered to give our deposit back if we decided against going. Her and Bill also gave us many other options to do in the area and were very informative. We decided to go the next day regardless and one of the members Josh (I think) was patient in instructing us how to properly strap the kayak on our car. The prices are reasonable and all the staff super friendly. This will be the place I choose next time I’m ever in the area.

By far the nicest people and accommodations in Terlingua! My husband and I got married here over Easter weekend and they accommodate 22 guests in their casitas and with our ride to Sotol Vista Overlook. J-Mac and Jeremy were our guides and were so kind and knowledgeable about the area! (Not to mention they got us cheeses and fruits and champagne for our reception under their pavilion!) We will definitely return to Big Bend and absolutely be back to Far Flung Outdoor Center. 10/10!!!!

Great cabins, spacious, most the comforts of home in a quiet area of an under appreciated area of the National Parks system. 4 wheel drive not necessary but preferred.

Probably the best Jeep Tour we have ever been on! Tour Guide Randy was amazing! As we booked a Sunday morning half day tour right after the busy spring break, we had a private tour sort of as know one else showed up! Be ready to make several stops in the park and Randy was very knowledgeable and discussed many plants, which my girlfriend loved. The stop for lunch was soo awesome and I was full as a tick when done! Be ready to cover numerous miles in the park and well worth the money.

Minutes from Big Bend. For most part quiet, with some highway traffic now and then. Nice little gift shop...shirts, hats, decals, etc. Lots to pick from. Also offers tours (Jeep and river). Will definitely be back on next trip to Big Bend!

My friend and I booked a full day river outing with Far Flung. They’re well organized with knowledgeable guides and well maintained equipment. The tasty lunch was an added bonus. I highly recommend Far Flung for excursions in the Big Bend area!

A very knowledgeable and affable guide: animals, geology, local folklore. The drive out to canoe launch was full of tips, stories, and info. Canoe ride is mostly float though it did pass us over 2 rapids - a little bit of a nail biter for me as I am not an experienced canoeist. The guide worked hard to try to ensure all canoes made it through- and we did! Lots of little (non biting) bugs that want to fly in your face. I think wrap around sunglasses and hat were useful to me.

Great place to stay! They have wverythjng you need and is 10 minutes from the park entrance (about 30 from the main trails). Great coffee, restrooms and space! They even have a cute plant book and showcase the local plants of the area with the guide book. They also have a fire pit every night with cornhole, jenga and frisbee! I’ll definitely come again!!

Great folks. Superb for big groups. Yummy homemade salsa, if you buy lunch on your river tour. Really good t-shirt selection at the shop.
