Very quiet camping in the darkest place in the US the stars are amazing. Be ready for no cell or internet service. You are in a beautiful mountain range.
No hot water. Under new management. Working on improvements. Manager was very understanding. She was the best thing the place has going for it. It should be better in the future.
Lovely time here , very nice workers and very reasonable prices all things considered.
Nice enough for me. Everything worked and was clean. Not fancy but I don't care about that. The bed and pillows were very nice - I do care about that. Nice people at the desk, too.
My experience has nothing to do with staying at this establishment but rather delivering goods to them. They are always helpful and ready to work towards a common goal, taking care of their guests. So if you haven't given them a try, I suggest that you do.
Rundown, depressing RV park without any vegetation whatsoever. Staffed by a boomer hick with messed up teeth who's very protective of his gravel lot. Your Big Bend dreams will die here.
They are so friendly here & do their best to meet your needs but they have limited resources. They have a new owner so it may spruce the place up. The rooms are very worn & dusty. The location is perfect though. Big Bend NP is fabulous!
We booked our two rooms weeks ahead. When we got to Big Bend Resorts and Adventures, our rooms were unavailable. Turns out the new owners/managers are causing the employees to quit and leaving guests stranded. The guy at the customer service counter acted like he was thinking about quitting also. Sounds like they need managers with actual working brains.
Location is 5 miles from. Big Bend National Park and about a mile or so from the only grocery store in the area. Rooms are is need of updates. Staff was not overly welcoming. The manager lady was extremely rude. The adjacent convenience store and the only gas station for 80 miles was nice. Restrooms are located in the laundry area of the motel and RV park right behind. I would rather stay somewhere that has less rude staff and no cigarette filled ashtrays upon entering a room that was supposedly cleaned. The bed sheets were clean, but looked like a 3 year old made the bed. I will not be staying here in the future.
The facility itself was very nice, and it has a cute little gift shop attached to the lobby. It was very easy to get to both Terlingua and Big Bend. Unfortunately the gentleman running the front desk was very unhelpful for anything outside of checking us in. The first afternoon we checked in I asked about setting up for a late checkout, and the last day I asked for help mailing some postcards. Both times he immediately said ‘no’. When I tried to ask why he told me he was to busy to help me and that was the end of the conversation. It was very surprising and offputting. I wont be staying there again.
Spent two nights first week of April, me and my wife, and have mixed thoughts of this place. Location is very good, just minutes from Big Bend West entrance. It's dated and rooms shows signs of wear and tear all around. Room A/C was working properly, but the room lacked a microwave oven and fridge. The bathtub drain got clogged everytime we used it, and the toilet got clogged as well if you use it after having a shower. Lastly, it lacked thoroughly cleaning. See attached pictures.
Camping spots were very reasonable. Only problem was they advertised laundry but wouldn't let us use it because of other guest causing problems. All I wanted to do was wash a few clothes after a long motorcycle ride. Other than having to pay $2 per 6 minutes of shower time, which was a first for me, we had a good experience. The staff was friendly and the location was convenient.
The location was good. The service sucked. They were rude.
The location is one of the best options for BBNP, but the cabins are in poor condition. They are renovating next year; so, hopefully that is helpful.
We stayed at the RV park, not the motel. The sewer pipe at each site REQUIRES an elbow on your hose. There is no way to put a hose in the sewer pipe without one. Sites are close together but do have water, electric and sewer hookups. All worked fine with the exception of the sewer noted above (not an issue for many, but it was for us).
Stayed in trailer hook up. No cable everything thing was ok. No shade but it is in the desert. Have to pay to use the showers. The restaurant connected to the gas station was better than expected. Really liked the quesadillas.
Came with our rv...$250/week was great..and within 30 min of big bend!!
Absolute rip off, other than location. They're quite pricey, for little included. Check in was very confusing, no direction given, no signs posted. They basically said give us your money and figure it out. $2 for 6min shower, which would turn out to be the most unpleasant shower ever. They timed out early at 5mins 40 sec. They're filthy dirty and no way to pre or post wash them out. Half the time the machines take your money. And the water is scalding hot! Sinks have dripping water pressure. Laundry area is awful and closed 10mins early, locking our clothes inside, electricity turned off with our wet clothes sitting there overnight. We missed our hike the next day since we had to wait for the laundry to open. WiFi is only in the front office. Gas lines are ridiculous. Needless to say we were very disappointed in this place.
Tracy was a huge help during our stay. We arrived late and I had forgot our tent stakes at home. She went out of her way to get some from her home and had them to us in 10 minutes. My only negative comment on the place is the bathroom - it’s $2 for 6 minutes of shower time and there’s only one sink. In the mens room the sink only runs scalding hot water.
I feel ir is too expensive .the housing fourniture seems pretty old. At l'est they need new matresses.
