$5 coffee that tasted like chocolate syrup. Got the mayan mocha which had a good flavor but it was a bit too sweet.
Pretty good coffee spot, nice chill atmosphere. Could use more comfortable seating, but not a deal breaker.
Matcha latte tasted all right. Loved the design on the top. Also ordered a croissant. It was good and the inside was thick. The inside was really cool and so creative. Will definitely come back in the future.
This is THE BEST coffee I've ever had!!! So, normally I'm used to coffee places drowning out the flavor of coffee with sugar and such due to the coffee being gross. I ordered the Emporium, and this is absolutely amazing. It's not overly sweet, but the coffee is so good it didn't need to be. So good!!!!
Today was my first time going since I started working in San Marcos a year ago. It was wonderful!! The homey feeling you get as soon as you walk in is amazing!! The young lady was very friendly and attentive. And the coffee was just what I needed for another 12 hour day!! I will definitely make this shop a daily stop ❤️
Barista yesterday with red hair was extremely rude and off putting. I simply asked what the peanut butter and caramel latte had in it (as in is it real peanut butter or a syrup and is the caramel a flavoring or a syrup as I have a dairy allergy). Their response “it says it on the sign. Peanut butter and Caramel.” I won’t be back for mediocre coffee. Steller down the street is much better and has a nicer more welcoming atomsphere.
This is what a coffee shop should be! It's like Starbucks from the 1990s and early 2000s but better. They have all your traditional coffees and so much more. Sit inside or out. Importantly, they display San Marcos history.
I've only had coffee, buuut they've got eats! I just liked the vibe and energy. My visit was before and after a Virtual Scavenger Hunt around the Square (Alice In Wonderland: ALSO Recommended!)
Delicious and reasonably priced coffee and drinks. Cozy, light & spacious interior. I love the photos on the wall from the mermaid show they used to do in town. A lovely little place to grab coffee, do some work, people watch, and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere. Staff was lovely as well and facility was nice and clean. Go support this sweet, local coffee shop!
At 5pm Sunday we walked in for a coffee and pastry. Asked the barista is they had any dark roast, and she said no, “because they were closing in an hour”… Ok, how about a regular coffee. No, they weren’t making anymore drip coffee because again, “they were closing in an hour”. Really? A coffee shop that stops making coffee an hour before closing. So settled for a scone that ended up being soggy and under cooked. Went up the street to another shop that hadn’t quite “given up” for the day even though they were closing in 45 minutes, and had a nice cup of coffee.
Great cup of coffee and I only ordered a croissant & the selection was picked over by the time I got there. So that was what was left basically but good little snack with a great cup of coffee, a Cafe, latte 😋 with foam brewed while I sat outside enjoying my morning with my feet up and just relaxing and smoking 🚬 a few 🚬 and some 🥶 water which they provided in a ice cold pitcher of water. Very refreshing. Lots of different publications to read and even books if wanted to read for a while. Good sized restaurant little Cafe style tables that needs a screw driver but that's OK old tables I guess?.
I enjoyed myself at The Coffee Bar. Quality is important to me and this coffee joint does not lack in that area
Very good cortado coffee. Quick service. Relaxing atmosphere.
It's on the busy downtown square in San Marcos so parking is an issue. Otherwise it is a standard locally-owned coffee shop. The quality of their coffee drinks is good. It is a nice place to get coffeeor tea.
Excellent coffee and atmosphere, great place to study
The coffee was delicious, much better than chain brand coffee.
I enjoy supporting the local coffee/tea scene here. They have a great white lotus with some honey and their last air bender advertisement has been really neat! When I went earlier today I asked a question about a menu item that was I guess silly and the barista was rude which sucked. The other times I went have been great but this last time makes me not want to come back.
Incredible mellow atmosphere. Exactly what you envision when you think “coffee shop”. Really nice and helpful staff. Great coffee and tea. Lavender Chai is a must try.
Great coffee and service! They didn’t have enough of a dark roast brewed to give me a full cup (but it was plenty), so they gave me a card for a free drink in the future. Love the downtown environment as well!
cashless is class bigotry and xenophobia
