Lamppost Coffee fell into the vast sea of mediocre coffee experiences. While the pricing and service were satisfactory, the lack of distinctiveness in both the ambiance and the coffee/food itself left much to be desired. If you're looking for an unassuming place with decent prices and service, Lamppost Coffee might fit the bill. However, if you seek a truly memorable coffee experience, you're better off exploring other options in town. However, beyond these basic factors, there was little else that distinguished this place from countless other coffee establishments. I will say did they serve sandwiches and to my surprise Cuban Sandwiches!! However, it was bland and unremarkable, lacking any distinctive character that Cubans have. Perhaps it was the wrong type of bread?
You can live without coffee but why would you? Seriously. So, finding a great place to drink some and hang out is like, as important as it gets. We went to their Round Rock location on Main. Great atmosphere, love the design, the size, the location, everything about it. I ordered a Latte since that is what I do. It was good. Not out of this world, but descent. Taken together, the coffee and the atmosphere, it is exceptional and a great place to hang out.
Lamba latte very yummy! A bit on the sweet side for espresso purists but delicious, and staff was very friendly and took shot pulling seriously.
The service was quite slow even though it wasn’t busy, the espresso was mediocre, I was told after paying that they didn’t have all of the ingredients for a blt that I ordered and my drink was made hot instead of iced. Nice ambience but overall poor experience.
Delicious coffee and sandwiches. Would recommend
Cozy place and latte is awesome! Very spacious! :)
Nice people and beautiful latte art!
Decent place, coffee and nice staff
Cozy spot to get some work done, meet with friends, or grab some food. Weekday afternoons are a zoo since a school is right across the street. Coffee, Wi-Fi, outlets, tables… everything I needed. The ambiance was calm enough where one could get work done. Will return when I need a spot to get stuff done.
Really cool little spot to hang out in Round Rock! Nice vibe and easy to find WiFi. My cafe reviews are based mostly on cappuccinos, because it reflects on the skill of the barista instead of the brand of coffee they use. The caps here are fairly plain and you couldn't really taste the espresso though the crema was done well and they were good with the latte art. There are tons of seating options for meeting friends or studying and looks like some good food options. It wasn't too busy or too loud either- great for anybody looking to focus for a few hours.
This place is a far cry from the one in Georgetown. The breakfast was not good, it was a reheated via microwave breakfast sandwich. The coffee was ok, but nothing to write home about. I would recommend going to the Georgetown store.
Had a nice time with my niece. Enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and a Mocha Latte 😋.
Amongst the few places where coffee is still served in traditional way like you see in this pic. Easy to find a place to sit, sip during a brief stop.
Very SLOW! There were about 20 customers inside and they only had 1 person working. Had coffee latte and it was average.
Wonderful cortado. Nice atmosphere. Relaxing playlist playing.
Pretty good cup of cappuccino, it seemed their menu didn’t offer many choices, but this cup was good. It was noisy so don't plan an important meeting here, but great place to meet up with friends for a cup of Joe.
My table had crumbs on it, so that's why I said 4/5 for atmosphere. Other than that, a really good coffee shop! I enjoyed my pumpkin spice latte with almond milk. Friendly barista who let me chill without ordering yet since I was early for meeting a friend.
I this is a proper coffee house. Great coffee beans and friendly customer service. I wish people would come and appreciate more places than these instead of big chain coffee shops. No pretentious size names here lol
Nice coffee and quiet place for quick breakfast.
Nice coffee. I had the espresso milkshake.
