Really cute coffee shop to get your caffeine fix while you relax
The first time I visit a coffee shop I always order a vanilla latte. Not one of my favorites, tasted a little burnt, watered down and not very sweet. On the other hand my daughter ordered the green tea frappe and it was quite pleasant to the tastebuds.
Fun place with a nice vibe. The employees were nice and there’s lots of seating.
Terrible latte, with poorly steamed and poured milk. The “filled” croissant was just a plain croissant injected with the filling. Is it too much to ask for a coffee shop to make a halfway decent latte these days? When I worked at Starbucks, this would not pass as a deliverable latte. Decor is mildly interesting. But overall, won’t return.
The people are always very friendly, but every drink I've gotten here has been pretty bad. However, today the line at Starbucks was very long so I'd thought I'd give it another chance. Another bad drink. It was a vanilla sweet cream cold brew that had zero sweetness to it and was very bitter. The kolache I ordered had been microwaved so much that the bread was as hard as a rock. I picked out the sausage, but the bread was inedible.
Love this place. Friendly staff, tasty food, and (of course) delicious coffee. Highly recommended.
The owners of this business are so untruthful. People continually call out the fact that y'all serve frozen Jimmy Dean sandwiches, and YOU DO! Just own it, sure you bake some stuff there, but it is not some world class bakery. They buy prepared doughs, or just mix w water type boxed mixes from food service vendors and mark it up like crazy. Go to 309, blue moon or even Starbucks for better.
5 star I guess was just sitting out front after leaving Jerzie Mike's. I'll give them 5 stars since they didn't run me off
Coffee is amazing, food not so much. I wish they would accept constructive criticism about the breakfast food rather than respond with how great it is.
Pretty bad coffee overall, I'm not gonna say it was the WORST because that would mean they achieved something. The atmosphere looked like if a rejected art student committed suicide. After looking at the menu I could tell this was a place where they make the really fun sugary coffees but I just wanted a cappuccino. After drinking I noticed it was pretty watery and overall pretty bad. I can see this is a chill/study spot for university students and for them I'm truly sorry. I wouldn't recommend Starbucks either because they burn their beans. God speed My response to the business getting back to my review, I didn't see any quality when I walked into the place, have you tried merit they are much better thanks but no thanks. I appreciate how confident you seem in your reply at least you are sure about one thing and it's not coffee.
First time here, and it was great. Only down side was the espresso machine was "down" at that time, but we were provided many other options (iced coffee) and the service was great! Love the atmosphere and cant wait to visit in the evening for a beer and some entertainment.
The staff is very friendly and quick to complete drive thru orders. I go out of my way just to enjoy their Wicked specialty coffee and a flaky pastry. So so good!

Found our new favorite coffee shop. I know there is a shop near you thats “good” but it’s not this good. The coffee here is a cut above and the staff is amazing. Every time we go it’s always so inviting and everything is just as delicious as the first time. (Consistency is hard with coffee shops but this one delivers)
Good coffee, but they will happily hand you a leaking cup. We were daily visitors. Every so often, we'd get a cup that leaks a good bit - not totally unusual. However, it's gotten to the point that maybe every third or fourth visit, my cupholders become little coffee ponds by the time I get home (and we only live 5 minutes away). A small leak every once in a while happens with every coffee shop. That, I get. But the cups they use at Black Sugar are absolute garbage in a multitude of ways... WHEN FULL... the cups will leak at the seam of the lid since the seal isn't that great. AT ALL TIMES... the cups may leak along the seam of the cup; it seems the glue isn't very great and will lead the cups to partially open in places. This is by far the biggest source of leaks for us. It pains me to advise against going here since the coffee is actually really good and the people are very friendly. I just can't stand having to mop out coffee from my car all the time... I've had enough.
The Wiked coffee is awesome! The atmosphere is great, service is spectacular.. I think I just found my new work spot.
DO NOT BUY FOOD HERE! I spent almost $30, only to receive Jimmy Dean products. You can buy the same JD breakfast biscuits/english muffins from HEB @ $7 for a 4 pack. Here's a tip: Filter these reviews from lowest to best. You'll see similar stories. SMH!
Love going to the Black Sugar Caffe' especially after a Dr's appt. to relax and get great service 😊
Good coffee and staff is always friendly but service is super slow, more so in the drive thru. Not sure if it’s staffing issue. I hope they get it resolved soon or I will have to go elsewhere. :(
