Great hotel off the main drag. Clean and comfortable room. Check in/check out simple. Walking distance to anything you need. Great friendly people everywhere we went.
Room was clean and comfortable. The mattress was lackluster and needs an update. Good water pressure but you have to run the water for a while to get hot water.
Went with my MIL for her birthday and loved this hotel. We unfortunately did not have any paranormal activity but the bed was amazing. Recommended upstairs rooms for more activity
Made reservations for February 15th... unfortunately, upon arrival we were told we didn't have a reservation for that night but we had one for the same day in March. Oh well ...we will go back!
Very clean , very well kept, very friendly staff. They modernized without destroying the original appearance and design of this very old building. Great place to stay while seeing what early east Texas was like.
Loved it, had a lot of ghost activity. My name was even called supposably the spirit of Andrew, the rooms are great and had quite some paranormal activity. Definitely worth it and will stay again!

Ask lots of questions before you book. Examples: Will the room have a chair or just a bed and commode for seating? Will there be any Wi-Fi in the room? We only had 1 bar of cell service so we could make a call, send a text or slowly check email, anything else buffered if it worked at all, so Wi-Fi is an issue in this location. There was no Wi-Fi at all in our room. Can you control the room temperature other than turning the ceiling fan on an off? If you wait long enough, will there be hot water, or is warm enough to take a short cool shower the best you should expect? Assume there is no refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, etc that chain hotel often have. Expect to know when your neighbor arrives and leaves, gets a phone call, or turns on the TV, and them to know the same about you, the walls are thin, the doors and floors squeak. Down stairs there are no windows in the room, but a window over the door and bright hall lights mean your room is not dark at night. Staff was great, location was great, and clearly some rooms are much better than others. We really like the town, and other places we have stayed in the past, we will not stay here again.

Nice, historic hotel, right in the center of downtown and within walking distance to attractions, shopping, and restaurants. My room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and attentive. The coffeeshop had amazing coffee.
The room was spacious and clean. The front personal was friendly. The only down fall was the water never got very hot it was just Luke warm.
Very great service from Stephanie the desk clerk..good accomodations...room fire alarm went off some time after I checked out, I was told...odd coincidence given reputation of the hotel...

Could not control room temperature. Was there 2 nights and housekeeping did not clean room, only changed towels

Great place to stay. The coffee place there makes some awesome coffee. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I didn't have a "ghostly" encounter but a great experience.
Great room and price, close to many attractions and within walking distance of some of the attractions. Original wood floors and old time feel. Staff was friendly. The only thing I would change is maybe putting a chair in the room to sit in as another option then having to just sit on the bed. Will definately visit again.
