Fantastic food at a reasonable price. All the 6 courses we had were unique and inspired. The flavors were all interesting and fresh. Will definitely be back!
One of the best meals and experiences we've ever had! Hudson was spot-on with his recommendations. If we're back in Houston, we will definitely come back, at least once!
This is one my favorite restaurants. My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary at Uchi for several years now. Ten years ago we first tried Uchi at their bustling Austin location. The dining experience never disappoints! Every dish has a unique and intriguing symphony of flavors. The fish is always fresh and expertly chosen. Our favorite is still the Machi Cure, pictured here.
The food is delicious and fresh, service is good, little pricy though.
I have been here more times than I can count… BEST VEGETARIAN SUSHI SPOT hands downnnnnnnnn ! (they have all the meats too) service is A1, top-tier, phenomenal. this is easily my favorite restaurant in Houston for sure. everything from Karen , the wonderful host , to Huan , my favorite waiter , to the food runners and table attendants .. Uchi is a well oiled machine where every worker is hands on involved in curating the most splendid dining experience for you. They don’t miss !!
Unique experience for our special day . Have to book reservation but totally work it. We will be back .
We love coming to Uchi for date night especially when we are craving sushi. My to go has to be the eggplant and avocado. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time to reserve a table because this place can book up fast.
We have been blessed many times with just the warmest, most hospitable and respectable encounters with Han. Since 2016, my and my then-boyfriend, now husband have had nothing short of well taken care of services. From our dating anniversary to now bringing my parents here (all the way from Malaysia), Han keeps delivering and have our jaws dropped every time. His gestures of even just making sure our teas were still hot meant the whole world to my parents who deeply connect to Asian culture/mannerisms. No words. Uchi, you have to protect Han at all costs!! Also, restaurant manager embraced our feedback very gracefully and respectfully regarding some food issues. Really, really, respectable and SPECTACULAR team (and food of course), my favorite restaurant of all time!!
Loved it. The best sushi I tried, ever. Do not miss it if you are in Houston. Service was fast and the food super tasty. The waiters were kind and competent. The restaurant gets full quickly even duringbthe work week. Reservation is strongly recommended.
I had high hope for Uchi. The decoration and ambience are very nice, but the food was disappointing. We tried almost everything in the happy hour menu but I have to say none of them were up to the expectation. Uchiko happy hour is better. The fried milk desert was very good (not in hh), i wont come back anytime soon.
Lives up to the hype :) Great experience
Sunday evening anniversary dinner. Booth was our server, service couldn't have been better. Entire meal was perfect in every aspect. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I will personally vouch for the Denver and Houston locations.
The best of the best. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I love to try new restaurants and rarely like to eat at the same place twice. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Uchi. It has ruined me forever. As hard as I try to find a sushi restaurant that can even hold a match to Uchi, I always fail. Time and time again I'm disappointed and have to return back to the only place that can satisfy my sushi cravings. Uchi even turned my boyfriend who used to loathe and was disgusted by sushi into a sushi fanatic. I swear by this place. If you don't want to develop a serious addiction, then avoid this restaurant at all costs.
The food was extraordinarily fantastic but the service was not great at all. We waited for a long time every time we needed our waiter. He was always no where to be found. In fact, we don’t know why he insisted on serving us because the other waiter was serving the surrounding tables whereas he’s always elsewhere. We waited for a long time to get soy sauce. We waited yet another long time to get a spoon in the end we gave up and shared a spoon. We waited for a long time to get the hot tea refilled. We waited for a long time to order extra food. We tried to ask for help from another waiter but he chose to ignore us. We really didn’t expect this kind of service from a place like Uchi.
We reserved the one in Austin but it was cancelled. Glad that we can make it here. Food is nice. Service is great. Plan to come here every year to celebrate our birthday 😍.
Han, the bartender, is phenomenal! I really enjoyed his happy hour service and recommendations today.
Went for happy hour and everything was phenomenal! First time trying sake & nigiri and the chef & server were super helpful. Will be back!
League of their own is best description I can give-I sat at the sushi bar solo on a Saturday evening. Made a rez to ensure I was in.. Big Chief Santos sushi chef & server Nicholas gave me a level of exemplary service and provided me with above and beyond an experience surpassing any expectations I might’ve had…which I didn’t bc I didn’t have a clue of what I was getting into. 😬 The only concern I have is “it doesn’t get any bettah then this…” Just a suggestion to the OverLords.. of the Uchi tribe but—-uhhh 🤗🫢🤠…Opening a location in N’awlins area would rock the Big Easy BEYOND any sushi joint we have there right now..peace out from the Bayou Country 😇🙏🙏🙏 That oyster app I got was some epic bomb of love I’ve never experienced on this earth 💜💛💚
Food is always good and fresh, but If you’re looking for a hearty meal this is NOT the place to go! Lol. Portion sizes are small, and plates are pretty expensive. Go for happy hour, better bang for your buck!
Best service! Amazing omakase! Great restaurant
