The food is okay I was a little disappointed. But the service is great.
The waitresses Treat you with respect The food is prompt And the food is very good
Creo que necesita una restauración pronto el olor a viejo no deja comer agusto
Homestyle Mexican American and even speciality plates likes posole and menudo here. Reasonable prices. Local whites and hispanic clientele speaks to universality of the menu appeal. Despite the namesake, food can be ordered mild or not spicy.
Always good service and food
Have been wanting to try this place for years and finally decided to give it a try today food was delicious and service was excellent. Will not be a regular restaurant for my family
El Jalapeño Café has been a Southlawn Plaza staple for a long time, holding on as the retail center has faded over the years. Stepping into the cafe feels a bit like a time capsule with old cafe decor going strong. We came for lunch on a Monday at about 11:45am and there were three open tables. We sat ourselves and were greeted quickly. Service was fast and friendly here. The chips are tostitos-style and the salsa is thin but flavorful. Our entrees were served on 90s style restaurant trays. I had the three cheese enchiladas plate and added two eggs on top. The sauce is a classic Tex-Mex type. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My partner had the No. 6 - one each of a tostada, taco, enchilada, and tamale. Based on past menu posts it looks like the cafe hasn't raised prices for at least 18 months, if not longer, and much of the menu is under $10. The cafe seems to be standing still in time but continues to serve up a good breakfast and lunch. They're open 7:30-2 Monday to Saturday.
I had the breakfast special with scrambled eggs with chopped ham. Hashbrowns. Homemade biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was very good. I got the hot sauce in the side . Very good flavor on the sauce as well. Will be back to try lunch or dinner for sure.
Great food and people every single time. All of the time...
Update your days open on here. Cause you dont have a message when calling. Save customers alot of drive time.
My wife and I drove by on Sunday October 2nd at 9:00 am and were very disappointed to see the restaurant was closed with no sign posted why. Google business indicated the restaurant was open today.
Went for a Mexican breakfast and it did not disappoint. I had the Carne guisada with rojo sauce and it was delish. They have a daily breakfast special for $4.95 almost everyday
Me and my family eat here almost every Saturday !! Amazing food and most of all amazing staff!!! Would give more then 5 stars if I could ! ❤️
Sooooo good! Quick service, good food, good prices!
let me just say… This morning was my first time trying anything from here and I am so glad I did! Order breakfast burritos to go and they were all so hot, fresh, delicious, and perfectly filled! And for a reasonable price! (In this economy😂) And the hot sauce was good as well! Not very hot but good flavor! Next time I will ask if there is hotter sauce. I will be back to dine in and try more food :))
My son and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. Small and cozy. We had the asada burritos which were big for the price. Our only complaint was the Asada was a little grissly and bland. But hot sauce was amazing!
My favorite place for breakfast. Stop by with my dad every time I am in town
Great food and service! We will be back for sure.
Food was delicious. In my opinion was one of the better locations for Mexican Cuisine. Was hot and freshly made when served for a great price. Great place to try for a good morning brunch.
The breakfast is so delicious and incredibly affordable! Best breakfast burritos and hashbrowns you can get!
