The folks at side deck are amazing!! Always very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable in all things card related! We come here to buy and sell Pokemon cards quite often and they don't low-ball you when you bring cards to sell!
I enjoy visiting the Side Deck. It has a pleasant atmosphere with plenty of friendly staff. When I was there recently, I got a drink at the coffee bar and played a card game that Tess was demonstrating. I had never heard of the game, but had so much fun that I had to get a copy!
The side deck is awesome. Started with a perfect espresso on ice then to the demo table with Tess, who walked us through the game that we ended up buying. Lots of happy people, gamers and employees. I wish I had one closer to where I live.
I've been coming to The Side Deck ever since they've opened and have never felt a need to write a review until now. Without going into too much detail, I want to express the deepest of gratitudes towards the staff mainly Raymond and Kevin for helping me out to an extent many other shops would not. I heart this store and the people that solidify this card store as being the best in South Carolina. They also have really great coffee too.
I was here for a yugioh tournament and a large, angry man expressly threatened to punch me in my face multiple times because he believed I disrespected him. When I told staff about it, they merely gave him a verbal warning. He should have been thrown out. When I later called the store, expressing I wished they would have thrown him out, they told me they would call me back after the person who handles that type of thing gets back in town. They never did, even after I called back again to ask. The store's response was utterly and completely unacceptable.
Great to go out to Yu-Gi-Oh events hosted by The Side Deck! Every time I go to one all the staff are nice and polite and I have to give a special thank you to one of the employees, Tess, for helping me out massively while I was at a YCS hosted by The Side Deck! She was incredibly kind and helpful and made my experience there so much better! 5 stars!
A few years ago the staff thought me how to play YuGiOh and my son's request. Today they helped me with a birthday gift for a friend and coworker. It is cool when the community is tight nit. This place feels like home for many people.
I love this place so much! It's a great spot for gaming and the coffee shop is phenomenal!
I may be a little biased, but I believe this store is up-and-coming greatness in the Lexington, SC area. As the owner, I strive to keep customer satisfaction at the very top of my list of goals. As I told everyone in the beginning, running a store such as this is not my day job, it doesn't put food on the table, it's to serve the community. We in Lexington had a gap in coverage in this area of our lives, and I aim to fill it. Three years later, we are still here to serve the Lexington community. If you haven't come in by now, please do. Four years later... We're still here. Five years later.. Google is asking me to update my review. We're still here to serve our community of gamers. Come on out and say hi!
I participated in their Toronto event and was approached by and elderly looking employee with white hair and glasses (who refused to give his name) with an extreme level of aggression and hostility being told after advising him of my sever medical condition that masks were not advised by my physician. In response I was yelled at and told “you don’t deserve an exemption” and when I said I was severely asthmatic he responded “ you don’t deserve an exemption” now after wasting 5 minutes laying into me about how I don’t deserve to be in the building nor to be participating in the event I proceeded to be made to feel extremely uncomfortable the entire duration which caused me to lose games due to this employee passing me with dirty glares and I ultimately has to drop out and go home. I plan to be contacting konami over this and have been advised to take legal action due to the discriminating behaviour of this person

Awesome card shop! Everyone was super friendly and they have a huge selection. If you collect or play any kind of board or card game, this is the place to go! Shout out to Joe for helping me while browsing cards and being really fair with pricing! Will definitely be back!
Favorite place to pick up Pokémon cards! What's even better is they keep ETBs and packs for customers and keep them away from scalpers.
