I thoroughly enjoyed eating at this restaurant! The atmosphere was quaint. The food—to die for. The service, stellar! I love the farm to table theme. It makes for an impeccable quality of food. The cornbread is a must have. The grits are creamy and delightful. For my entree I had the catfish (which I did have to add salt & pepper to) which was some of the freshest I’ve had in quite some time. For my cocktail I had a French 75 which can be a hit or miss—it was a 10000% hit! I strongly recommend this place over and over!!!
🌙🌴Such a novel take on southern food, if James Beard married your grandmother… we loved the meal…found the prices very reasonable, the atmosphere clean, authentic and not fussy at all. We will be back here soon as you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Great food and service. They made my birthday dinner special, even a little Happy Birthday note on the menus and a candle in my delicious coconut ice cream. Can't wait to go back!
We couldn't get a reservation in the dining room but we arrived when they opened early and scored seats at the bar, don't worry they serve the full menu. It's not a big bar so I'd suggest getting there on the earlier side. The bartender was attentive and the patrons were friendly. I tried the crispy rice salad, Nashville hot lamb, went off menu for the smash burger, and a couple of cocktails. Everything was tasty but the lamb soared above the rest. If the cocktails I tried the punch was my favorite. Husk is worth a visit. One thing to take note of. The bar is in a little building to the right of the restaurant. You'll see a courtyard ahead and the building to the right. The entrance is to the left around the railing in the photo.
We went to Husk to celebrate our anniversary. It was a great experience. We loved all the dishes and the food was delicious, the atmosphere was super cozy and we loved the service. I highly recommend and would come back again! ❤️
Came for brunch and generally found the food to be pretty underwhelming given how much we paid for it. Country-friend pork chop was pretty good but a little on the dry side. Batter and potatoes had a nice crispiness, but I expected more for $28. The rabbit hash was even more underwhelming, a little salty and not very flavorful beyond that. The blueberry ricotta donuts were tasty. My mom ordered the sausage & egg sandwich and she said she enjoyed it. Looked like the best value since it was the cheapest and the size of a burger. If we come back maybe I’d try that next time. We did enjoy sitting outside on the deck.
Husk is always amazing, welcoming, and never disappoints. The servers are incredibly knowledgeable, their chefs are beyond talented, and the overall vibe just can't be beat. I love it for brunch and dinner!
We went out as a family and had a wonderful experience. We loved our waitress. She was phenomenal. Her suggestions were on point, and she was really accommodating to my picky eater. I've never tried rabbit, but I gave it a chance, and it was delicious and filling. My husband enjoyed his steak, as well. My child chided me about eating a rabbit, but then tired it. She decided she'd order it next time. Lol. We put away our phones, took our time eating, and enjoyed a little people watching. The pace of the restaurant is perfect. You don't feel pressure to eat and run.
Quite tasty! Loved the fried wagyu beef tips. The cornbread was a bit over cooked/dry, and many of the dishes were a bit too salty (couldn’t finish them because of that). The ice cream was amazing.
What a great dining experience. The menu changes daily, so you never know what you're going to get. Chef takes you on a fun and different journey every day. Sourcing material from nearby partners. The service was spot on.
Everything was amazing! I ate every bit of the soft shell crab it was incredible. I would highly recommend coming and having all the drinks and food!
Delightful & delicious. Appreciated our attentive server who steered us to delicious shrimp, chicken, omelette, entrées and sweet appetizers. The epitome of southern comfort food.
Delicious meal at Husk. Although I have to say that Vilda, our waitress made our meal. She was absolutely wonderful, so attentive, knowledgeable about the dishes and so incredibly professional! I did feel that some of the dishes were “trying hard” to make it different but it didn’t affect anything because it was very tasteful. Like I said, the service was everything with Vilda. The rigatoni dish was the best dish and so were the dumplings (if you like spicy)- scrumptious! The banana pudding (I know you’re thinking - banana pudding? I thought the same thing) but please get it, it was delectable. Amazing! The cheesecake (and I don’t like cheesecake) was incredible as well. All of their ingredients are so fresh! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. I recommend this restaurant but make a reservation!
Fantastic dining experience. Leslie was wonderful and took us through all the Gluten-free options on the menu. All service was genuinely wonderful and every staff member who dropped something off checked in with us to see if there was something we needed. The food was amazing and a great tribute to southern cooking.
We came here for dinner after receiving a notification on Resy that a table had opened last-minute. The staff were very professional. Everything was prepared well. We would probably not choose baked oysters or fried catfish again since the cook method somewhat dilutes the flavor of the seafood. The best parts of the entrees were the Black Sea bass fish and the collard greens. I would highly recommend ordering a side of collard greens if you go. The true unexpected highlight was the key lime pie ice cream. It was rich, dense, and very flavorful with pieces of key lime pie in the ice cream. On the evening we went the half chicken also looked popular and tasty.
Locally popular dining room. Excellent service. Selection of exceptional dishes. Enjoy
part of the wave of food pioneers that created today’s charleston food scene. 12 years old, still feels fresh and on point…i had a great meal. extremely well executed. the service was attentive, warm and informed. had a wonderful rare bourbon on their list. then the lamb dumplings: firm wrapper, and full of juice and flavor, like a southern XLB. spicy!! and fulfilling. the fried catfish was beautifully executed. the collard greens were smoky. the dirty rice had umami richness.
Was recently looking to try this place for dinner but we ended up having to book a reservation for brunch. Not sure if that’s where we went wrong but we were all a little disappointed with our meals. Everything was well prepared, but the burger I got was heavy and greasy, and not very balanced in flavor. I’ve had better for cheaper. The dishes my companions got were also all okay, but there wasn’t many lighter options to choose from. Biscuits and gravy were pretty textbook. Maybe great for someone who doesn’t know any better. Everything was good, but left a little to be desired. For the reputation and the price, everything was just a little underwhelming. Professional, prompt service and a very beautiful restaurant, but I was expecting a little more from the food. Was actually the restaurant I was the least impressed with the entire weekend trip.
A very good experience overall👍. The food was seasoned very well and added depth and flavor which created an entire world for you of just greatness. The only argues I had were that the food was at a high cost I’m talking at least 20$ a person, also on a side note in the upstairs room they would flicker the lights every few seconds( very OCD activating), finally I would like to recommend you get some meat they do it very fine and well a must if you come here get THE RABBIT! So tldr pretty good.
Overall: A great restaurant with lots of flavor and style. The good: The hot lamb dumplings were spicy and delicious! Tender, juicy, and had plenty of filling. We also had a snapper with risotto, both of which had strong, rich flavors. The filet was buttery yet highlighted the fish, and the risotto was creamy and cooked to perfection. The service was particularly slow the day we were there, but the manager took off $30 from our bill unprompted. It was definitely a nice surprise, especially given that we didn't really mind the wait. Atmosphere is intimate and refined, and the waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. The not-so-good: Didn't particularly enjoy the turnips with the snapper, and the ink rigatoni was just "fine"; nothing to write home about. Prices are a little too high. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8.5/10
