This is a great coffee place near my work. The barista here is super friendly and quick with the drinks. I really enjoyed my iced matcha tea. They have a common area that you can sit and have a conversation at. This will be my go-to spot by work for future coffee meetings.

The barista is so nice and quick. The handmade pastries she makes every day are amazing.

I came here for an industry related meeting (they let us host in their "atrium" area adjacent to their cafe) and I was really surprised how great the carafe of coffee was! Probably the best coffee I have had in quite some time! I also tried most of the baked goods- which are baked in-house each day!!! My favorite was the berry muffin. What a great coffee stop, I can't wait to add it to my rotation.

Hands down one of the best coffee shops I’ve been to in Portland. The drinks are fantastic and service is wonderful. I love working in an office that is so close to this gem.

One of the best coffee shops that also has baked goods. She makes everything in house, and we’ve never been disappointed.

Unwelcoming and unpleasant experience. I came to this coffee shop after picking up a donut from voodoo. As I entered everything seemed fine, but boy the service was really off putting. As soon as I grab my drink, I was remind of the outside food policy, which I was aware of because it’s posted on the door. Regardless, I did not appreciate the tone and being reminded of it as I barely grabbed my drink. Now the drink itself was just terrible. The chai tasted wrong. Given the pricy, I expected more.

Why go to Stumptown with this place right around the corner? Phenomenal coffee (Sterling) and house made scones. The pastry chef/owner? is really nice too. The rating of this place should be a lot higher, the self centered tourists that left one star reviews should remove them.

The owner of this place is really sweet and makes literally the best scones I’ve ever had. The savory pastries are really good too!

The service was fast and coffee was good. The waitress was on her own and she easily kept up with the steady flow of people. I had a work meeting there and it was clean and comfortable.

Simple Local Coffee is my FAVORITE coffee shop! The best place to go for specialty coffee drinks, beans, and incredible pastries that the owner and her husband bake fresh, in-shop every morning! I never miss a chance to get a latte and a scone when I'm downtown. Also there is a great upstairs seating area and the owner is such a wonderful, friendly person! Can't recommend this place enough.

Friendly service. Absolutely amazing hot chocolate. Each coffee shop has a different tasting hot chocolate, and this one was among the best I've ever had! Aesthetically speaking, a coffee shop cannot look better than this one. The colors, the materials used in the interior, the building that it is located and the part of old town. Truly a beautiful experience just sitting down inside the cafe. The music was nice when I went in, it was like vintage blues and front-porch guitar blues. Each song had its own unique and old texture. It wasn't too loud, but was not quiet either. I would recommend visiting this place on your tour through Portland's unique cafes. Oh try the pastries too!

Best espresso in the area. Americano temperature is always right - never too hot. They have delicious scones, stuffed bagels, macaroons, and other treats too - I believe homemade. All run by a wonderful barista. Great local business that I can't recommend enough!

My wife and myself went in to order some Lattes. We paid and got our coffee and then the barista, I think she was the owner/manager went off on us, because we had a pink box from Voodoo Donuts. She stated she had her own pastries, which looked awful. We didn't know and would have left. The woman was very rude and asked us to leave in a very horrible manner. The coffee was ok, but not worth the price or the nastiness.
