Cute little shop! The breakfast sandwich was yummy, but the honey lavender latte was everything! Just sweet enough and absolutely perfect! Great place to spend a morning!

So happy Grendel's survived the pandemic! My favorite place to get a latte & breakfast sandwich or bagel before work

Stopped by while visiting from NJ and omg they are the best! They have the best coffee and food and staff is so sweet. Would go back to Portland just for Grendel’s!

Such a nice spot! I went with my family and we all got drinks and treats at a reasonable price. The customer service was awesome, I saw one of the staff members run out after someone when they forgot their drink just to give it to them. I ordered a cold brew coffee and I was pleasantly surprised to find COFFEE ICE CUBES?? It's genius, that was the coffee never gets watered down. I would highly recommend this cafe. :D

This bacon, egg and cheese english muffin is perfection. Crispy bacon, made the eggs fress, thick melty slice of cheese and then they pressed it in a panini thing 🤤 I told them to surprise me with a coffee because I panicked 😅 first time here and they were incredibly sweet about it. They made me a hot maple cinnamon coffee and it was amazing. I'll definitely be in a few more times for breakfast before I leave town. Stop in you won't be sorry!

Very slow to get a cup of coffee. Food for everyone came out well in advance of a simple cup of coffee. And then the coffee was watered down. I won’t be returning.

Great food, coffee and atmosphere. Wish you were open earlier and longer; considering the shop is in a warehouse work area they absolutely should. Many warehouse workers do not eat breakfast because of the early shifts

Best bang for your buck coffee shop in the area. Parking can be a little awkward, but the sandwiches, bagels, and coffee are all somehow very, very good with prices still reminiscent of pre-covid life. I rarely leave reviews, but this spot deserves a good one.

My first visit. Maybe this was a one off, but the person taking my order was stone-faced and looked everywhere but at me. They didn't look at me once; even when speaking, they leaned sideways to look behind me. Just a weird vibe. Tea was fine.

Sometimes slow service, I once waited almost 40 mins for a toasted bagel. But I love the quality of food and also their White Chocolate Mochas are to die for!!

Kicked out before I could order, I don't like to order right when I arrive but was given the ultimatum shortly after setting up my laptop 😑

The Breakfast Sandwich with egg and ham was one of the best, if not THE best, I've ever hand. Simply splendid! Hot cocoa went with it to perfection I highly recommend this little coffee shop.

Great breakfast sandwiches made on the spot, lots of coffee drink options like Golden Milk lattes. Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff. Very much "old Portland", it's what coffee shops were in the 90's during 2nd wave coffee. Outdoor sidewalk seating under the building awning right off Burnside for people watching.
