I love the coffees here. They all taste so good. The drinking room is charming and cozy with a fireplace. The staff are very friendly a lot of coffee to choose from. As for the coffee beans, they have a lot more selection than a supermarket. Stay there and treat yourself for a nice cup of coffee.

This place is great!. They have a honey syrup that is amazing in your coffee even if you don't like yours sweetened. We go here a lot, especially on my birthday.

Delicious coffee in a not-so-busy part of Hawthorne St. We were happy to cozy up with a cappuccino after a flight and got great brunch recommendations from the baristas (and a local customer.)

Cold brew tastes real good! However I don't know anything about coffee so my opinion may not be important.

Can a coffee place with a fireplace be beaten? Of course not! Come and enjoy. Hope there would be more food/sandwich options though .

Coava staff have always been pretty friendly! I usually order drip or an Americano, and the quality of espresso is always been consistent for me. Def recommend.

Maybe it's the new lease I signed today, or maybe it's the waking up well rested, but I was craving a non-sticky surface for my laptop, and the complete absence of screaming, drunk sports fans. So here we are... With plenty of seating, even when it's fairly busy (Sunday early afternoon) - it's not crowded. Friends gather to chat and catch up, there's probably a few other ambiverts working nearby, and while the music is loud enough to create ambiance I can still rock Taylor's new album in my headphones. There's a limited pastry case, but what's inside looks delicious... possibly a jalapeño biscuit? It'd be easy to spend an afternoon here, unbothered by life and its obligations outside.

The coffee is good, very good. This review is not about the coffee. On November 9th I was the victim of non consensual guerrilla veganism at this location. I ordered a chai. The chai is not good, stick with the coffee. The tea was just filtered quickly instead of being allowed to steep but that’s not the point of this review. The chai I was served tasted bad. It sounded crazy but it tasted so bad that I asked the barista if it was soy milk. I assumed it must be an innocent mistake. Without a bit of apology she said “It’s oatmilk.” She then continued when I looked confused to explain “We make all of our chai with oatmilk”. She did remake my drink when I explained that I drink real milk. There was absolutely nothing on the menu or any signage indicating that the chai listed next to the latte was different from any other drink. There was in fact no mention of any milk alternatives on the menu. I have gotten drinks here in the past with no issues. Everyone knows that the default milk for coffee drinks is milk. I am honestly quite angry about this intentional attempt at deceit by a person who apparently thought their ethics were more important than my free choice and assumed I wouldn’t notice if they made what they thought was the “right” choice for me. I know making chai with oatmilk is not a coava policy and if it is it should be clearly communicated with proper signage. In this case I needed the protein and as a basic human courtesy, people have a right to know what they are drinking.

We came here for the first time and ordered the iced vanilla latte when they mentioned that they make their own vanilla syrup in-house and showed us the bottle. The coffee taste was excellent and strong and the syrup did not make it overly sweet. The vanilla syrup was very pleasant and made with Madagascar vanilla beans. The interior of the place was modern, great for a date or catch-up. Upstairs seemed like a perfect spot for studying. Would definitely come back here again for other drinks!

The seating was uncomfortable, the music was loud (and had songs with slurs, not my vibe), and the drinks were not good. Connected to a lobby that echoed so loudly I couldn't think. Not a good place to get work done. Two stars for nothing terrible happening.

Sleek neighborhood spot with sunny outdoor tables on an uncrowded block of Hawthorne, and plenty of indoor workspaces. The coffee is full bodied and smooth, the muffins moist
