We went for "high tea" for fun. We dressed up. It aas supposed to be a fancy excursion. While the decor is quaint and the affair did eventually reach a pleasant conclusion, it was -not- without major speedbumps. One of the servers was prompt, attentive, and polite. She took our orders and brought us our first course of the high tea without any issues. Then a new server arrived.... and she was huffy, loud, and obnoxious. Our tea... was nowhere to be seen... we'd finished our first course..... sandwiches came.. with our one vegetarian guest's sandwiches missing. The obnoxious server stars yelling at us about the order being messed up... it took 15 minutes for her to figure out what she was wrong because she wasn't listening to us. She clearly didn't understand what high tea is or how it works on their own menu. Our tea still didn't arrive. It took another 15 for her to figure out we needed our tea... and then kept coming to our table and asking us if we wanted to pay, or order things that we'd already ordered as part of the high tea .. The reason I've given 3 stars and not 2 is because the host apologized to us and took an order off our ticket as restitution. My message to the host here if you read this is : Make sure the staff is trained for when things go wrong. No yelling. No visible frustration. No approaching the guests unless absolutely necessary. Don't ask guests to pay until they signal they are finished.

Always first rate food. Super service. If anything, both food and service get better every year. Never disappointed in over seven years.

If this place doesn't inspire you to take a trip to Great Britain it means they have replicated it so meticulously. The teas were brilliant, and the food delicious- served in an Authentic English Atmosphere. Attention has truly been paid to every detail in this place.

Our first experience at Lovejoy's and we'll be back again for sure!. Shared their special Indian Curry cuisine with friends in a cozy cottage dining room next to a faux fireplace. Staff was very attentive and super friendly. The owner had wonderful stories to share and made us feel right at home like we were with old friends. What a blessing!

I 💕 the delightful surroundings as soon as I opened the door. I 💕 my homemade currant scone with clotted cream and lemon curd. The tea list is extensive. They serve coffee. My husband enjoyed his decadent chocolate cake, therefore, it was truly a love-joy encounter. All the visitors appeared to be happily engaged in table conversation with rare exception to those on their phones.

The owners are stellar members of the community. The menu is authentic British cuisine. I spent 4 years in England in the military in the 70's, so i know. The crew are all very cordial. I highly recommend it to all.

Traditions start with Lovejoy's. I have been coming here for several years now and always when my daughter comes for a visit, this is our place to go for a nice cup of tea and experience of elegance. I love it here and will continue to be a faithful customer. I am so glad to have this place to visit in a town I love to come to. The service in great and staff if happy although very busy.

Ordered crab cakes off menu for $20. Went to pay. Charged $28. Was told they needed to update menu. They would not charge they menu price. Very indignant that I brought it to their attention. Chowder was served cold.

Without a doubt I had the best brownie of my life here and yes they make them fresh in-house about once a week and a great cup of tea with caffeine and no crash I thought about this slowly and carefully as I was sitting in a beautiful and interesting establishment filled with exotic jams jellies dips trinkets exc. I want to drive back just for the brownie and tea

Bangers and mashed potatoes were great. I drank iced tea with my meal, but others definitely were drinking hot teas.

First time in a tea room. It's beautiful. The tea tasted amazing. I recommend the hot cinnamon or peach. Our sandwiches tasted good & the presentation was so unique
