Great coffee and espresso. Friendly staff.
Great coffee, great service, great atmosphere. And the pastries weren't bad either. I highly recommend this place.
Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Im new around here, and the guy behind the counter was super nice and inviting and even helped me choose a drink. Love it, will definitely come back.
I always enjoy a trip to Gray Owl. Excellent coffee and tea. The food menu may not be that large, but everything on it is really good.
This place is such a treat to have in Norman. Not only is the coffee excellent, but the atmosphere is incredibly cozy. There is an assortment of furniture to use while you're here whether you just want to drink your coffee and read the news or you're planning to set up for a day of remote work. I have never felt awkward or unwelcome here. It's a very short walk to the rest of Main Street if you want to grab a bite to eat as well. If you just want a snack, Gray Owl has an assortment of pastries on hand.
Their savory scones are wonderful. Love the owners and the atmosphere is eclectic and welcoming. Venu with a visit. Parking was easy and accessible
Cool little coffee co-op with a more grungy vibe than chic, but still cozy. The drip coffee was great with notes of thyme. I had a double chocolate muffin that was probably good for me and it complemented the coffee well. Plus, where can you get a cup of coffee and a muffin for under $5 these days?
Excellent coffee and fresh made small sized scones and coffee cake. The community board is loaded with local info and announcements.
Best coffee In norman by a wide margin.
Best coffee in Norman by a country mile. They always pull the full bean flavor, even with their standard drip coffee. Never had a bad cup here. Excellent vibe with chill employees, to boot.
The atmosphere was nice and peaceful.. My friend and I sat on the couch as you first come in and had a drink.. I had regular coffee which tasted like it had been in the pot all day and there was sludge at the bottom of the cup ... But the company saved the day and everyone looked content. Next time I'll try a latte 😅🙏
Yummy treats and a fun and friendly staff! Support your local everything!
Spacious hipster coffeeshop with house baked pastries, and local arts and vintages bikes on the walls. Beverages are delicious bur a bit expensive. Friendly service and it’s great place to work and read.
A really cool and cozy atmosphere with friendly staff. The French toast latte was really good!
Love the atmosphere of a store owned and operated by the workers. Cold brew is delicious and their hot drinks are just as delicious. Try the French toast latte. Make sure you tip the baristas after you fall in love with the place because they deserve it
Great place to hang out and work or study. Nice selection of coffee and some yummy snacky food options. A comfortable and decently quiet environment too.
Cool spot, cool brand. Had high hopes. We were overwhelmed by the smell of onions on our first time here. We asked about it and apparently it was due to them making a batch of everything bagels. While off-putting, that could be forgiveable. However, my girlfriend's iced French toast latte (their board specialty that day) lacked nuance--it was overly sweet, not balanced, and had an oddly bitter finish (not espresso-bitter but like the cinnamon was off?). I've been to a lot of great craft coffee places in all different cities, and this one misses the mark. The lack of proper flavor profile in that one drink said it all, that's not a thing at a high quality establishment. However, three stars instead of lower because I'm judging off so little.
Growing up, this was my place of solitude. It has been for many others. The coffee spoils you, you can't drink 90% of the other stuff out there once you get used to Gray's. In 2019, a year before the pandemic, I quit college and searched for a job in a coffeeshop. Many things motivated me to quit college, but Gray Owl motivated me to go into coffee. I spent a couple years working as a barista across the OKC metro until Gray sent a message out to the community that they were hiring. For the last year, I've worked at Gray Owl. They know my feelings already, but I think it's important that the Norman community knows as well: Gray Owl is a beautiful and kind community, and working there was a beautiful and kind experience. I'm moving on to other things, and I'll miss this place dearly. I hope that one day, when I'm decrepit & in my late 90s, I'll be able to walk into this shop again, and order my last espresso shot, and die happily - knowing that the place that started my life journey is still starting similar journeys for other people, and knowing that I got my terminal caffeine fix at a quality establishment. :) Your friendly local barista, Ike
The place has a pretty cool vibe. The latte art was nice. The coffee was good, but the espresso was a little more bitter than I typically like it. It was still very drinkable, just slightly on the bitter side whereas I prefer a smoother tasting espresso. Perhaps that's just the way their espresso tastes. It could have been an off day, but it also may be that espresso wasn't super dialed in on the day I went there. I give them the benefit of the doubt though, because some of that is a matter of personal taste. Overall my experience was good. I'll try them again next time I'm around to see if anything changes.
