Favorite coffee place in Newark area. I order the amaretto mousse iced.
It was my first time, and I'll definitely be back! They even have a wall of polaroids of dogs that come through the drive thru, and it's my favorite feature I've ever seen in a restaurant! Very cozy atmosphere and great coffee!
Employees were beyond rude. I was very nice. I’ll I wanted was to fix my latte. I was told I’d have to pay. I went inside, only to talk to another rude employee who talk very unkind to me she did remake it, but when I asked the guys name working she said I don’t know his name 😡. I do not cause problems, I do not like to be unkind to people, but if a drink is not right you should be polite to your customer. You should ask how to make it right not say you will have to pay extra or pay for another one rudely. This was uncalled for. It got me so upset. She saw it made me cry, yet while making my drink never apologized. They should never treat s customer this way
Great selection of coffees and baked goods! Iced River Road Mocha is a must!

We came on a Friday at 11:15 and the line was long took about 30 minutes to get through but was so worth it! We got a camel latte and a frosted pumpkin latte both frozen. We got my 3 year old a chocolate chip cookie and she said it was the biggest cookie she’s ever seen! We will definitely go back.
I love there Boba. There mango was my favorite until my daughter bought the lavender with brown sugar Boba. Love, love, love it. This is like the 12th time we've ordered from River Road and I don't think that we will be going to Starbucks anymore. Thank you, everyone that works for River Road Coffee, for having great Coffee, Boba, Chai tea and a fast delivery.
Best local coffee shop! Baristas are always friendly & they make excellent drinks.

NEVER Again!! The car at the drive through had a big dog in the back and the girl working the window hand fed a cup of something to the dog and then repeatedly let the dog lick her hand. As I pulled up I watched and she DID not wash her hands! I asked if she washed them and she lied and said that she had! This is a health code violation and can make people seriously sick. That dog could have just finished a self grooming experience before licking her hand. Disgusting! She claimed to have hand sanitizer by the register but again there is NO WAY she sanitized her hands before handling my food NO WAY!! I will NEVER go this RR again for any reason!
The frozen Carmel latte is damn good. The downside to this place is the incredibly long wait in the drive through
I am currently facilitating a Habitat build in Newark and have little knowledge about the surrounding area. I was in desperate need of a place to work with wifi and, although the library is wonderful, it's not open early enough for me. So, I thought Starbucks! They are on every corner. Well, my GPS only pointed to one's that seemed to be in other buildings. As I left the Kroger Starbucks flustered I spotted River Road Coffee. What a dream! What a treat! The employee who greeted me was so friendly and bubbly and her energy melted away all my anxiety in regards to finding a workspace. She handed me a card for the wifi and explained the tea selection as I looked puzzled. I'd go for a Cosmopolitan sweetened with blackberry. The entire staff there is top-notch. I used to work in Customer Service so when the entire team seems genuine and happy, it's a skill you cannot teach. After leaving this retreat I headed back to the build site to chat with the team and remembered she mentioned one in Downtown Newark. This is where I am currently leaving this review. To no one's surprise Micenzie B. is the hanging there as the Employee of the Quarter. Only speaking with her for a short while I knew she deserved it. Energy like hers are few in this world. Keep being amazing and when I wall always work from a River Road because of you ladies! p.s very sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly.
Seriously the best coffee place I've ever been to. Puts Starbucks to shame. Great bagels and other food items as well.
I LOVE RIVER ROAD My drinks are always consistent, which doesn't happen at other places. Your employee mikenzie deserves recognition for how kind she is to customers! 🌞
Amazing coffee. I've never ordered a wrong flavor. S'mores is my favorite as a hot coffee or steamer.
