Beautiful Wes Anderson style space, very large with a patio. Brunch gets very busy and there can be quite a wait for food. But, the Italian style espresso and matcha drink were amazing.
The food here is simply on another level. So many fantastic options, sammiches, sides, breakfast items... and they sell great coffee. Salazar used to be our favorite brunch in Cincy. Used to be.
About 40-50% of the staff there have an unenthusiastic, dry, hopeless attitude to them that, understandable while working in a coffee shop, does consistently make me feel like I’m ordering something wrong or have to triple check my order so the pretty girls with the dark hair won’t roll their eyes at me (i would be honored but not good for other populations). Other than that small issue, every single aspect of the shop is perfect! Wish there were more gluten free options and treats but maybe one day :)
Had an excellent breakfast hang with a friend. Food is really good and the place is really clean, open and airy. Coffee us excellent!
I’ve been here several times, and luckily it’s only 5 minutes away from my house because it is so tasty!! It’s kind of pricey if you’re looking for a cheap coffee, but the flavors explain why it costs more. They are a local roaster and have their own coffee beans. The flavors of the food and drinks are amazing. The vibes are great, nice and open space with good music. They also have dinner on certain nights with outdoor seating coming soon! Do yourself a favor and get a matcha latte or coffee and you won’t be sorry!
Proud Hound is currently my favorite coffee shop in Cincinnati. The vibe is great. The food is so tasty. All around A+
Went for the first time this morning for a quick breakfast. Good coffee and a tasty meal. We ordered a Basic biscuit sandwich. Well cooked with the biscuit as the star of the show. The Huevos Rancheros Grits were fantastic, lots of flavor and texture. I recommend a little hot sauce to add some vinegar and spice. If it’s your first time you order at the counter and they deliver to your table. Also, parking on Montgomery was fine when we were there. If you can’t find street parking they have a lot across the street.
Great decaff latte - mild and not bitter. Very open space and great for having a coffee and chat. Looking forward to trying out their vegetarian options. Just wish parking was easier.
The service is not the friendliest, wait is often long and the food and coffee is mediocre and overpriced for what you get. There are much better places to go locally with better service, food and price.

Wow! I’d only been here once before, several months back, for a coffee with friends, and only very recently visited again for brunch. Although I liked the atmosphere and latte during my first visit, I wasn’t going out of my way to make the trip out to a neighborhood I rarely visit. But after the banana fosters grilled cheese, donut holes, and grits dish I tried this past weekend, I will be back more frequently. The girl working the register was also super warm & welcoming.

This is my husband and I’s FAVORITE coffee shop in the greater Cincinnati area. They roast their own coffee and that is a major plus in our book. My husband loves their house espresso and I always get their iced mocha. And I am not exaggerating when I say they have the best breakfast food I have EVER had.
I don’t write reviews often but I love this place so much. I was bummed to discover there wasn’t a Starbucks on the route of my morning commute because I like their ability to order online and pickup, but that ended up being for the best, because Proud Hound is SO much better AND you can order online for pickup. And the people who work there are so nice. Whenever I stop in to pick up, even if I’m early, they always check what I’ve ordered and get started right away if they’re not busy. They always ask if I’ve also ordered food, and if I have, they go check on it (the food is also great, by the way). Faster than Starbucks, better value, my mocha is always the same great taste every time (I’ve found Starbucks hit or miss with consistency), and I love supporting a local shop in my community. Win win win!
Not only is the coffee great, but the hot food is great too- unique sandwiches, vegetarian and vegan options, always prepared perfectly. If their kitchen has "off days" I've never noticed. The staff are also super friendly and kind. The price point for coffee and food is a bit higher than I think it should be, but if that means their staff is getting paid well then I think it's a good deal.
Proud Hound is excellent in every way. Coffee, food, environment, and most importantly the people! You won’t be disappointed.
Outstanding and unique menu with great breakfast and sandwiches. Staff was wonderful and a great atmosphere. We'll be back again!
As someone who has worked in the coffee industry and frequent coffee shops in the Cincinnati area, I can confidently say Proud Hound is the best shop we have right now. Every little detail is perfection, from separating kitchen and coffee staff, the layout of the space and the elevated food including vegan options! 🙏🏻 On any weekend you’ll likely run into a line of people waiting to order, but it’s well worth the wait. I’ve never been let down, they are always consistent.
We arrived about an hour before close so there was only one cup of coffee available. It was not hot. We were offered an Americano however it was not a good Americano. The customer service was good and the place was a bright and welcoming atmosphere. Coffee is more important to me than the "look". I also was told no dogs inside and yet it's called Proud Hound. Strange!
