Jenna is the finest barista and their espresso is the BEST in town.
Great place to stop by and order your favorite Matcha Latte, before you head down to the river walk in Wilmington NC. Happy family makes for a happy day!
First time in Cheeky Monkey and I really enjoyed it.I had their Cheeky Chai and it was great...not too sweet and an even balance of spices. The music played was well chosen and the service was quick and friendly. Room was sunny even with the rain today and very clean. I have only good things to say about Cheeky Monkey...try it for yourself!

My favorite coffeeshop in Wilmington! If you’re looking for great coffee, delicious pastries, and an inviting atmosphere, you have to check out Cheeky Monkey. They have the most unique specials that will keep you coming back to try more. In addition to the friendliness of their staff, they are always willing to make a suggestion or offer one of their favorites. If you’re heading downtown, stop in and grab a coffee! My favorite is the Fall Festival (delicious any time of the year). Also, they collaborate with Crave Vegan baked goods, so check out the chickpea blonde brownies. This coffeeshop is truly one of Wilmington’s best local spots.
The barista recommended the French toast flavor and it was so good I accidentally chugged the entire drink
I came in for a coffee one afternoon, and it was fairly busy with folks on laptops. I decided to sit at one of the two outdoor tables, but being right by the street it was pretty loud and distracting. It's priced pretty similarly with other coffee shops in town. The coffee was just ok, so I'm not sure this would be my first choice next time. Update: I visited a couple more times to try other drinks and had positive experiences. While this is still not my favorite coffee, the employees are very kind, and it can be a good place to sit and work!
Great coffee
Tried the Americano and friend got the current brew, mine tasted like "office coffee", the super weak kind. I didn't have to ask my friend anything, he said "well, it was worth a try". I really like the place, but that coffee is for someone else.
My husband and I used to frequent this coffee shop at least once a week but after our treatment today never going back. The staff openly talked about our order loudly so other patrons could hear. I ordered an iced drink and the barista gave me a hot so I told her and she called the person at the cash register over and loudly told her off that she needed to explain to me that it couldn’t be done. The people in the cafe were staring bc she was really rude.
The ambiance was great and the coffee even better! The specialty late I had was sweet and tasty without being overpowering or overly bitter. The coffee had a nice balance of flavors that you can only get with specialty!

Amazing coffee. It was so good I had to walk back and tell them. I live an hour away and will be making weekly trips for their growler of cold brew. Edit: One wasn’t enough. Have one for work and one for home.
So far I've tried an iced whole milk latte, a half-sweet iced vanilla latte, and a maple cold brew. All were delicious!
I absolutely love this place! The coffee is sublime - Iced Fall Festival Latte with Almond Milk is my D.O.C.!
We bought 2 lattes and unfortunately it just tasted like hot milk.
