After a short weekend at the beach, we wanted to grab some breakfast on the way home. In came Blue Surf Cafe. It was a little hidden if coming from the beach, have to go inland another mile from the highway but it’s in a small strip mall. They had plenty of seating inside and out. Ordering works inside at the counter. They have a great selection of breakfast items, lunch wraps/sandwiches. The coffee situation is ok, just black coffee with creamers. No coffee drinks like lattes. Don’t call yourself a cafe if you don’t have all drinks. Overall very pleased with the experience though, great food, nice staff, plenty of seating. This was our 2nd time in 2 years. A new tradition has been established.

The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Alyssa is THE best bartender. I swear we always come in when it’s busy and it’s no problem for her. What looks like is going to be an hour wait she turns into 15 minutes. The chicken palliard is incredible. I have never tasted a pairing like this in my life and I’m so upset I haven’t tried it sooner. Kudos to the master chef because it was so good. The creamy goat cheese spread paired with a perfectly pan fried chicken and pickled onions (the way to my heart) topped with a Dijon mustard sauce… ugh, so good.

This hidden gym should be on a food TV show! Such different flavors! Boom in your mouth! I love the braised beef sandwich and side of marinated chick peas and veggie quinoa! A different lemonade to try daily! Best hot chocolate with amazing flavors! Love this place! Reasonable prices and excellent staff!

This made our second time coming here. After asking for a recommendation, the guy behind the counter taking our order recommended the braised beef sandwich which my wife got and thoroughly enjoyed. It was probably the best meal of the trip. I got a Turkey avocado sandwich and it was super delicious as well. The tea was very tasty with a great flavor. It also wasn’t very sweet (which is a plus for some) but they had simple syrup on the counter so you could add a few pumps and make it just right for your taste. I’d definitely recommend and would return again next time we’re in the area.

That hash though! It's full of ham and potatoes and onions. I would recommend two dippy eggs and maybe a dash of their siracha ketchup. Their biscuits are equally good!! Well done guys, you're a gem!

I’ve been here a few times and every time I go I enjoy it! The atmosphere is cute and the food is good. Both takeout and dine-in are good quality food, doesn’t disappoint.

We stopped here for breakfast around 10:00 on a Monday morning. There was no wait. It's a counter service. Both employees we interacted with were very friendly and professional. We both ordered the Junior with eggs over easy. The eggs were cooked perfectly, multi grain toast was crisp as was the bacon. The fruit cup of pineapple and grapes was very fresh. Orange juice was a large serving. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Would recommend.

I stop by every time I am Wilmington. Try the meatloaf sandwich. Or either of the Cubans. Stellar!

I ate here for lunch for the first time. It was a Thursday in February, and it was not very crowded. This is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter, then sit down and the staff brings you your food. The lunch menu mainly consists of salads, burgers, and sandwiches, reasonably priced around $10-$14. The restaurant is nicely designed and fairly open, with a beachy theme. It has a variety of table options to choose from (high tops, picnic tables, booth-type seats, and normal chair/table seating). The restaurant seemed fairly clean, although I noticed the window sills next to our table could use a good dusting. The food was good. I had a black bean burger on a brioche bun, and my wife had a braised beef sandwich on a grilled ciabatta. There are a few sides to choose from, like garden salads chips, fruit, and potato salad. I had fresh fruit as a side and my wife had the salad - both were small and unremarkable. My burger was good, but the black bean center fell apart with my first bite, so it was messy to eat. I also noticed they didn't cut up the avocado (it was a full 1/4 avocado placed on the burger), so I sliced it up myself. My wife's sandwich looked good and she enjoyed it. The service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely go back and try other items, since it seems like a well-run restaurant with good employees and decent food. Or I might go back for the brunch, which appears to be one of their specialties.
