Stopped by this delicious place on a work trip through the mountains. The space inside is so wonderful and welcoming. They have a few items for sale that we’re cool and locally made. I got an iced matcha latte with almond milk that was very good and tried their vegan cookie which was also awesome! Recommend you making this a regular stop or trying it out if you’re passing through! They have tasty items on the menu as well!

Great coffee or expresso, very friendly staff, a little expensive though for coffee but very cool place with comfy seats.

First and last-time customer. My husband asked if they could make a “wonderful ” strawberry cake with strawberry icing for our Valentine’s trip to a nearby cabin. The baker stated she could. We picked it up on Valentine’s Day without a hitch. It was beautifully decorated. That evening we cut into it and were surprised at the appearance of the cake, it looked half-baked. We decided to try it anyway and found that it had the consistency of PlayDoh! It was super dense and stodgy. We could not eat it. (On a positive note:the icing was good) We tried to return the rest of the cake to the bakery the following day but they were closed for staff training. We returned the next day and returned it. My husband told the young man at the counter what the problem was and that we were returning it. His response was “I’m sorry about that”. He never offered a refund, full or partial, or a replacement…nothing. Worst cake I’ve ever tried to eat. So much for our special Valentine’s Day treat.

I just have to say every time I come here I want to come back that much more! The staff are always amazing and so patient. I always feel welcome and accepted and they really do the best at forging connections with you. I love this place so much and always suggest making a stop to our guests! Thank you for being you and being so great!!

We came here for lunch and it was so good we were back the same afternoon. Everything we ate was delicious, homemade, and high quality; quiche, coffees, side salad, and several cookies. The young people running the place were very friendly and knowledgeable. We will return.

Really good coffee - properly brewed and delicious. Breakfast was tasty and filling. The biscuit gravy was too runny and under seasoned for my particular taste. Double check their hours on their Facebook page. The Google business hours are inaccurate as I learned when I came for an afternoon cup of coffee

Every time we are in Spruce Pine visiting family, we try to get to the Fox and the Fig at least 3-4 times. The staff is always friendly. The kids love the cookies and the lemonade. I like a cortado. So glad to be able to go to a great coffee shop in spruce pine. What a gem of a place!

My job takes me through Spruce Pine several times a month and I'll gladly admit:, I plan my drive to allow extra time to stop at Fox and the Fig. Delicious and healthy salads, homemade soups, organic coffee and the best bagels I've ever had (try the English muffin toast too!)..... Not to mention a friendly staff and warm welcoming location make this place a true gem in the North Carolina Mountains!

My new favorite hangout in Spruce Pine. Being born and bred in Spruce Pine I remember starting my love at coffee at DT's (very good and down the street) but Fox and the Fig is where my adult, coffee-loving self craves and yearns for. They use Counter Culture beans which some have voted best beans in the country and they know how to treat them. With their drip coffee, pour-overs and lattes, they treat the coffee with respect and you can taste the difference. They also have one of the best gluten-free peanut butter cookies with sea salt that I have ever eaten. Stop in and hang out for a while! Update* You must also try my new favorite obsession here. English Muffin toast. I buy it by the loaf. Order it with butter and preserves. Also try their biscuits and gravy. You won't be disappointed.

I love the new (relatively) darker roast. And the homemade bagels are my favorite!

Organic ingredients for all in house made bagels, cookies, coffee's, teas, biscuits & gravy, quiches, sandwiches and more. We loved the mixed green berry salad, ham sandwich, green matcha lemonade and fresh hot coffee. Friendly service also.

I love the Fox & Fig, and to be honest Spruce Pine is fortunate to have a place like it. The coffee is great but the scratch-made cookies, bread, and bagels are out of this world good. Sometimes I take a bite and completely lose track of where I am in my life, in time, in the universe. I certainly lose track of whatever my dear wife was saying to me at that time, looking up with tears of joy in my eyes. The turkey, chipotle mayo, pickled onion, and lettuce sandwich on "English muffin toast" is simply my favorite sandwich ever. Full stop. No overstatement. Why Google, why did you ask me to leave a review today??? I wasn't planning on going in to town, but now I crave their wholesome food and the "watering-hole of interesting people" atmosphere. The owners are kind and genuine, the staff's great. Ugggh just go already. I'm going.

Visiting the town of Spruce Pine to see the fall foliage and came across this wonderful cafe. I had an amazing homemade sesame bagel with bacon, chipotle and egg. Should’ve taken a photo but it went in my belly very quickly ☺️. Cappuccino was excellent and the The space was perfect to relax and enjoy and meal or cup a Jo! Highly recommend!
