They don’t take orders by phone 🙄 Who even does that? Won’t get our business Wow! Such a professional response. I guess I’ll get my co workers to post a review as well 🤣🤣
I was really thankful for great wifi to be able to remote into my work computer for my job. I loved the food and the seating options available. I am grateful for a great place to sit and do work while enjoying my breakfast acai bowl. Thank you for your business.
Great coffee and a nice place to meet a friend or two to catch up. It's not huge, but I've always found a place to sit.
Ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a croissant with tomato and maple bacon spread. Was pretty tasty. Place wasn’t anything exceptional but was a good place to work out of for a couple hours.
Nice place for coffee and great avocado toast.
First the coffee and atmosphere are great! However, recently we went in at 2:25pm. There was a guy cleaning and sweeping and he kept telling everyone that they close at 3:30. I’m thinking ok, but it’s 2:30 now. Was very annoying. Many customers were irritated by this. Otherwise it’s a great place just don’t go close to closing time.
Espresso was average. A bit sour/ over extracted.
Excellent flat white and açaí bowl. Tastes fresh, not too sweet, just right.
The environment is fine to do some work. The outlets could be better - some are pretty crusty/loose (potential electrical hazard?). I noticed the coffee quality isn’t as consistent as I would like for a local shop. I have ordered americano, cappuccino, and a vanilla latte here, and unfortunately I have not been impressed. The flavors don’t capture the richness of the coffee, and the flavor is off! I also think it’s odd that the Black & White coffee beans are sold here (that is what I often use at home) but the taste of the drinks don’t match up - do they use different beans from the ones they sell? Other than my disappointment in the coffee, the baristas have always been polite and friendly, and I like that the shop has its own crowd of regulars that I’ve begun to recognize. The community is small, but it is comforting.
I've been coming to this Cafe since 2004. It's changed owners since then, but still remains a wonderful addition to our little community up here in North West Raleigh. The drinks are well made, the food is delicious (and served as large portions!), and they have tasty homemade bakery items. It's quiet, the vibe is easy going, and it has a good amount of natural sunlight to help brighten your day. My only complaint is that they close at 3:30. Like many people who visit here, I work remotely. I do not like leaving this wonderful, peaceful place just before the work day is over to go to Panera or Starbucks for an hour. Please, please consider closing at 5.
I’ve been here twice now and will definitely be going back. Good coffee. Sandwiches are pretty expensive but really tasty and huge portions.
Yum!! The coffee was amazing and the seating was quite comfortable. Wifi was lightning fast. The only reason I did not give it five stars is due to them closing so early in the day. Would have been a great place to finish the working day when working remote. Will be back for the yummy coffee, though.
Great coffee shop run by people who know coffee. Don't live here anymore, but try to come here when I visit. I remember this place when it was New World Music Cafe around 2000. I remember the closed off room that was neat. It's more open now though. Same feel as years past even though I think the owners have changed once or twice. That's usually a good sign for a business if new owners maintain what works since it means they know their customers and product. Update - some reviewers have mentioned the attitude of the staff and owner. I haven't seen this personally that I remember. I do think they try to maintain a good coffee quality and art. Some coffee shops that are more relaxed and cozy sometimes end up closing because they have enough people who sit and don't order (much). So keep in mind that it's a business. If you want atmosphere then be willing to pay a cover charge.
Such a great place to come sit and do work in! It’s cozy, and there a few different styles of solo, small group, and large group seating. They have printing available and great little cookies / drop cookies. Coffee was good. Great menu variety for drinks and food. Coffee accompaniments were sugar, simply syrup, and Splenda. First time visiting. Will be back! Ps: cafe closes at 3:30 so the kitchen closes at 3 PM.
I love the relaxed, friendly vibe of this cafe. Plus, delicious food and coffee!
Wow how cute is this little coffee shop!! Super excited because it’s a min away from my house. This café is situated in a shopping center but it is located behind subway. You might have trouble finding it at first, but totally worth it. They have so many breakfast options like bagels with a variety of options/toppings, as well as açaí bowls! It’s super cute inside and they staff are very friendly. Latte with sugar free vanilla was perfect. Muffin was good! Will definitely be back many more times!!😀
Don’t let the inside of the coffee shop dissuade you. The coffee here is absolutely fantastic! Had one of the best cortados with oat milk ever. The sausage breakfast sandwich, though small, was tasty and very well made. Can’t wait to come back.
New World Café is a leading figure in the local café culture here in Raleigh. Its unique style and coffee is rooted in the tradition of café culture. The traditional European coffee is on par with any café one would find in Italy. The team is immensely knowledgeable and willing to explore new local ingredients and flavors. The food is excellent, especially the breakfast sandwich. New World Café has a family friendly environment, and it is a great place to lounge for a few minutes and enjoy a cup of coffee. The patrons and New World Café team are super friendly and delightful to converse with.
I’ve been a regular at many coffee shops, and after visiting this place a few times, the whole vibe is just completely off. The coffee is alright, thanks to the baristas, but the owner does not have his heart in the right place to be running a coffee shop. The staff are always talking amongst themselves about their various mistreatments; it’s clear the manager does not care at all about them (or the customers). Their extreme turnover rate speaks to how bad the employee experience must be; there’s new people every week and they never stick around for long. Their food safety practices are archaic and the “free” water usually has stuff floating in it. The portions are generous, but the food has made me feel sick multiple times. Not only is the owner explicitly (verbally) anti-Black, but he will also run you out of the place if you sit down for a second before ordering or if you ask for your drink to be remade because there’s a problem. Needs a reality check for sure. I’d recommend going anywhere else for Black & White coffee, which a ton of other businesses with better morals sell.
Great coffee! Their food and baked goods are wonderful as well. I recommend the lemon cookies.
