Excellent atmosphere, great books, great service. Sipping coffee out front and listening to the birds made for an excellent capstone to a day out.

Went for coffee & discovered a book store. Two of my favorite things! Happy accident & next time I’m in Duck, I’ll make it a destination spot

I ordered a vanilla iced latte and a banana nut muffin, so simple, but it was honestly so good! Every time I visit a town on vacation, this is exactly what I order and it tastes different every time. This place made it so well and the banana nut muffin was excellent!! The atmosphere inside is nice and cozy. I loved it!

I recently visited Duck’s Cottage, a delightful coffee shop and bookstore in Duck, North Carolina. The decor of this place is super cute, and the combination of a coffee shop and bookstore creates a unique and cozy atmosphere. The coffee itself was decently average and slightly overpriced, but still passable. My wife had the iced lavender latte, and I tried the nutty duck latte, both of which were delicious. The presentation of our drinks was delightful too! Despite the slightly higher prices, the overall quality of the coffee was enjoyable. I would definitely consider visiting Duck’s Cottage again in the future for a cup of coffee and browsing through their book selection. It’s a charming spot for coffee lovers and book enthusiasts alike!

Our first stop almost every morning during our stay in Duck. Delicious coffee and such friendly staff. Love the OBX-set fiction section and a bunch of beach/ocean books for little kids too.

Everywhere I travel I have to find a local bookstore. This one did not disappoint! A small collection, but good selection especially of “beach reads.” As a bonus, they have a coffee shop inside. Don’t skip the baked goods, either!

The staff is very helpful and ready to help you find the perfect book and drink to make your day a little bit better. Always such a good time to get a great drink with friendly people and enjoy the front porch while the little birds hang out with you by the deck railings.

Stopped for a quick coffee and we got a gluten free chocolate muffin and a chocolate chip muffin, service with a smile! Coffee was very good, I made it the way I wanted it.

Stopped by to buy coffee and also was in terrible need of rest room. Followed sign they have posted to use public restrooms, a good distance away. They were locked. Went back to get coffee, looked around, saw no employees and more importantly, no rest rooms. I thought restaurants were required to have rest rooms. Left very perturbed.

Front door sign is a little confusing. " ENTER TO THE LEFT" thought it was just us, but while sitting outside many people looked for another door to enter on the left. Set up is interesting. Coffee was good. Cute names for their drinks. Prices were okay too.

Disappointing! Seating for 4 inside. Very crowded. The place was tiny. The line was where the books were so you couldn’t peruse the books easily. The coffee was self serve except speciality drinks. We came back to buy ornaments and a book and you had to wait in this long coffee line, so we put our items back!😭🥲

Good coffee but very overcrowded. Limited book selection. Needs bigger location.

This shop was a go-to for me during my regular trips to Duck over the past decade. The charming cottage and bookshelves made the slightly overpriced but delicious coffee worth the trip. However, the curt staff have been ruining my enjoyment of shop over that past year. During my last visit, I walked over to look at the different varieties of bagged coffee and the day’s muffin options. This was met with a sharp cashier telling me to get back in line. I was second in line at the time, with the first person currently ordering ahead of me. If the store was busy I could understand but, I was the only other person in the store at the time. The look the cashier gave me indicated that if I did not move, I would be yelled at again. Next, when I went to order my muffin and wanted a refill my Duck’s Cottage thermos, I was told that I would have to pay full price for coffee. When I purchased the thermos, I was told I would always get the refill price. With this in mind and having already been treated rudely, I did not buy any additional coffee for gifts. With the Kind Cup opening up in Corolla, I’m not sure I will be back. I used to always enjoy using my Duck’s Cottage thermos during my time away from the beach and fondly plan the next trip to Duck. I find myself using my other thermos options whenever possible because my fond memories of visits to the cottage are now tainted.

The only thing wrong with Duck’s Cottage is that I can’t take it with me when I head home! We stop here daily on our weeks spent in the area and always leave happier than when we arrived. The coffee is fabulous and the book selection is stellar. My favorite time to visit is early morning in the off season, which is a great time to enjoy the porch or the chairs near the pond in Purple Martin season! They’ll ship their coffee, too, so you can enjoy a taste of the beach at home. Thanks, y’all, we can’t wait for the next visit - have a great winter!
