In the mood for a cool satisfying drink along the lines of a Vegan protein smoothie/shake, I find Latella Gelato along the boardwalk and happily buy a Vegan protein smoothie/shake. The "Pink One" is satisfying, not grainy, smooth, and cool for a hot/warm time. Customer service is helpful and kind. The establishment offers more than consumables. Chill Light Artsy Beach Vibes!
Excellent vegan gelato! I got strawberry and mint chocolate. Wow…I’m so glad that we stopped by this place. There are many options here, but I felt like we made the right choice.
literally the best gelato/ice cream i have ever had. i went to squigglys the other night. DISAPPOINTING! should have came here. i got the berry cheesecake lawd oh my gawd have mercy i could've eaten the whole tub of it. CREAMY. DELICIOUS. HEAVEN. love you latella gelato. you made my stomach happy.
From the 🍨🍦 gelato, to the 🍬🍭 candy, to the gifts, artwork, and the exceptional customer service, Latella is a must visit on the boardwalk of Carolina Beach. Their flavors are wonderful, they have dairy free, and vegan options too. I highly recommend the cappuccino and mint flavors. They even have coffee and an affogato here.
Came here in the mood for dessert and hot chocolate. Note: anything alcoholic (gelato and/or drinks) is supposed to be consumed on the premises. Came after 8 pm so street parking near the boardwalk was free in late March!
Anytime I am down by Carolina Beach I make sure to stop by. They have lots of dairy free vegan options. The employees their are always super nice and helpful. It's nice being able to try the different flavors before ordering. They also have coffee. I highly recommend.

Good gelato, smoothies and service, just off the boardwalk.
I wanna say what I really liked first, they had a good variety of vegan and allergy friendly options, and the allergens of each Gelato flavor was listed on them which was nice. The only thing I didn't like was the portion size was really small it was $5 for a scoop much smaller than an apple (not sure what else makes a good size comparison) and since I paid with card they had me select how big of a tip I wanted to leave on their tablet which made me feel obligated to leave one so it was $6 for a really small portion with zero toppings.
Vegan gelato options - extremely good, definitely plan to return and try other flavors.
Very good gellato! Tried the mermaid tail, tirramasu, and strawberry guava. All three flavors were good!
My teens had peach gelato and it was amazing. Definitely a great place to get some great dessert.

I got the banana cream pie.. it slapped!!! The other was the blueberry lemonade and it was super delish as well!
I have walked past this place so many times and I am so sad that tonight was the first time I have tried it! I could not believe how many options there were. The gelato was amazing and they had vegan and sugar free options?! And the sugar free was sweetened with stevia, which is almost impossible to find! The gelato was delicious. They also have a full espresso menu, which makes me want to come back. The interior was really nice but you can take your gelato or latte up on the boardwalk because it's right there. Glad to have a nice option right on the boardwalk. They have a ton of other stuff like smoothies and iced teas. Yummy! Can't wait to go back!
Not just Gelato. Hot and cold drinks, popcorn, chocolates etc. Also drinks for the 21+ age group. There are tables and chairs inside which is great because the boardwalk gets hot & crowded. So it was nice to be able and relax with our drinks. I got the magic lemonade which tastes just as good as it looks. Also a frozen hot chocolate which I thoroughly enjoyed. Next time I'll try some of the many Gelato options.
Great Gelato and friendly staff. Great place to sit down and take a break from the beach!
Employees opened late even though there were others outside waiting in the hot sun for them to open. Not even a smile when they did. They appear to be miserable
We really enjoyed the Gelato and Gelato Frappe from Latella! The interior is cute and clean, and its located right before the boardwalk so we could eat our Gelato on the boardwalk, which is a plus!
This place was adorable in the interior and the gelato was soooo good. They had some interesting gelato flavors, and a couple of them were alcohol based. I also loved the variety of coffee options that there were. A special option is to get an affogado, a scoop of gelato with two shots of espresso on top of it. Overall, a great shop that would do well even if it wasn’t a popular beachfront spot.
