Always fantastic! Portions are MASSIVE! Order down in size!
Great selection of hard and soft serve. Larger servings. Food options, but folks come for ice cream. Open till 9 but they stay open till the line is gone. Sometimes as late as 10
The kids working here are giving out so much ice cream it’s impossible and very messy to eat. We asked for 1 scoop and they put at least 6 scoops. Very wasteful.

We LOVE Boxcar Barney’s and go multiple times a week while we are at Chautauqua. They have delicious ice cream (Hershey’s, I believe), tons of great flavors, and huge servings for very reasonable prices. Their service can be a bit slow, especially soon after dinner. Still, we are happy to wait the 20 minutes to get this excellent ice cream!

Huge dips! I got 2 dips, it was way too much but soooo good.
Large portions of Hershey's Hard ice cream and lots of mix ins and toppings to choose from. Waffle cone was a bit stale and hard, but otherwise a perfect summer treat.
Worth the wait (there is often a line). Probably the best Ice Cream I’ve ever had. Worth a detour.

Omg the best. I ordered rassbery ice cream thank goodness i ordered medium it was HUGE I was not expecting it. Would so go back again. Staff friendly helpful too
I am so glad that I took the advice of another reviewer and got the ice cream flight! At $6 for 4 flavors, you truly get your money's worth (and then some). I couldn't have even chosen a favorite flavor because all 4 were both interesting and delicious. Skip dinner and just indulge here!
If you like homemade hard packed ice cream and treats, you need to eat here. The servings are MASSIVE and the flavor variety is very good too. I ordered a 3 scoop cone and each scoop is likely half a pint!😂 Worth every penny.

Rarely do I look at a serving size and think it is enough. So I got three scoops here. My first thought was wow thats too much!!! Delicious!
