Just had lunch and the food was amazing, service was amazing, and the atmosphere, (have lunch outside) was amazing. So as a whole, it was amazing. Went there the other day again just for coffee, and it was so good! Worth every penny.

We got the underground burger, it was delicious. The brussel sprouts and onion rings were delicious as well. Good selection of beers on tap.

Update: I have had enjoyable service, tasty food, and fresh tap beer. Service has been way improved, great hometown bar and eatery!

Our favorite hang out spot with friends for dinner and a beer. We take advantage of outdoor dining when the weather permits. Great gem in the heart of Highland.

Good coffee, great beer selection. Food is very good and I just love the tofu w/ buffalo sauce. The place in Highland.

Great food. Friendly staff. Perfect weather allowed us the opportunity to sit outside. Definitely want to go back and try some other options on the menu.

Nice friendly atmosphere. I just feel that when I pay 15.for the cheapest burger the roll should be fresh and the tomatoes in August shouldn't be tasteless like they are February tomatoes.

I did not get a chance to try Underground's food or beer because all of its outdoor tables were taken when my friend and I went there for lunch. The lovely art gallery next-door, Knaus Gallery & Wine Bar, had free tables, so we asked the owner, Sarah Knaus, if we could sit there and order food from Underground and drinks from her. She graciously agreed. But the Underground waitress said we had to come inside to order food, although I was holding my small dog. I asked, twice, in two different ways, if we could order outside since I had the dog with me, which would have involved her walking three feet out of her way. My friend went inside to order, and I ordered food from Knaus Gallery & Wine Bar, which means Underground lost a sale, the waitress lost a tip (my friend gave Sarah a 100 percent tip), and Underground lost our good will. Note to waitress: Sometimes in life, good customer service means walking a few feet out of your way.

Amazing! A restaurant is more than the food that it serves; it is about an experience. Underground had did not deliver the experience nor serve edible food. The hamburger that I ordered "Medium" was almost burned, my friend's veggie wrap was a few vegetables surrounded by a gooey crust. The frys (my spelling) had enough salt to melt the ice on a sidewalk. Waitress showed no interest in serving us. Expected that a restaurant, which serves the population of a small town would attempt to retain new visitors as customers. Not the Underground. Prices high. Checkout time brings a smart pad pushed into your face with a large display asking for a tip. No receipt available other than the Web or Text. Then to add insult to the bad service and barely edible food is a request to buy the kitchen crew a round of drinks for $7; Why? I tapped the 15% tip and exited. It could be worse because dlned at the restaurant located a few doors away last week, which made us aware of the existence of the Underground. This nearby place was worse. Why is this happening in Highland. Possibly because of the Walk Way on the Hudson that brings tourists who will never return. The uncaring restaurant owner may be seeking a :quick buck'.

I love this place. The servers are awesome. The cooks give a damn about the quality of food and its presentation. The beers and coffee are always top notch. Great space to sit and enjoy a few!

I am giving this place one star I wouldn't even give it a star this is my second time there and the food is just not up to par as far as I'm used to I had ordered the boneless chicken wings and had told the waitress once I tried a small one that they just weren't good they were overcooked and she looked me right in the eye and said we cannot take it off the bill to me that means that you do not want a returning customer if you don't feel that my complaint was worthy enough to take it off my bill it was a $47 lunch but still will put me off was she at least could have took that off the bill so I will not be returning there

I love the atmosphere of this place! Great selection of drinks, including coffee, beer, wine, and cider. I also like how they have a selection of games to play if you want to hang out for a bit. First visit was only for drinks, but their food options looked great as well.

Small menu, but good selection. Nice variety of local ales and cider. Bring your phone. Menu is qr codes and must be scanned. I found that annoying. They did have a couple copies printed. Other annoyance...as we were eating and talking, the volume of the house music kept getting louder so we ended shouting to each other. Finished our drinks and left. Upside, the food was good. Served fresh and hot.

It's an open atmosphere inside with a few tables (that were sticky 😒) and a nice sized bar. I'm not a coffee person, but it looked like they can make a variety of coffees! There's a few tables outside as well, on the sidewalk. The bathrooms are pretty tight, there's two, one on each side of the restaurant. The menu selection is great and the food tasted fresh and delicious.
