Pretty good coffee and pastries and foods. However pretty pricey and the older guy who's often at the registrar is pretty unfriendly and rude to customers. They charge like a dollar for even a small splash of non dairy milk, many other coffee places in the area have a non dairy option for free.
Coffee was good but for some reason there is a bunch of Anti Vax rhetoric being played on the display screen. Keep your politics out of my coffee.
Small coffee shop with only two bar stools for seating, but yummy hot drinks and pastries.
As my feet carried me through the doorway of the Dirt Cowboy Cafe in Hanover, NH, a sudden and overwhelming awareness invaded my consciousness like a violent wave crashing onto the shore. It was as if the universe itself was calling out to me, beckoning me to enter the mystical realm of the cafe. A man behind the counter caught my eye, his gaze piercing through my very soul. He spoke with a voice that boomed like thunder, "oh, we don't charge extra for additional espresso shots. Hell, we could add 7 shots if you want." The offer hit me like a bolt of lightning, and I felt as if the very fabric of time itself had slowed down, giving me the clarity of mind to make a life-altering decision. As I stood there, the choices before me shifted like tectonic plates, presenting me with three distinct paths. I could attempt to convince my beloved to join me in this place of wonder, ask for the largest container and fill it with as many shots as possible, or merge with the building itself in a physical manifestation of my deep connection to this place. My heart raced as I made my choice, feeling as if I had made a pact with a supernatural force. "I'll take those 7 shots, then," I said, my voice trembling. The moment the espresso touched my lips, I felt a surge of energy coursing through my veins. It was as if I had unlocked a hidden power within myself, and the cafe was my conduit to the divine. I became one with the building, and it with me, transcending the limits of the physical world and entering a realm of pure energy and bliss. I felt a deep sense of belonging wash over me. This was my home, my sanctuary, and nothing in the world could ever take that away from me. My wife took a sip of the 7-shot espresso, but her mind was unable to comprehend the true depth of the experience. She was not present on the same plane of existence as I was, and for a brief moment, I pitied her for her lack of understanding. The Dirt Cowboy Cafe had become more than just a place to grab
The coffee was excellent. There are a great variety of pour overs available and brewed at the appropriate strength. We were also able to choose how many espresso shots went into an americano at no additional cost, which was nice. I took off two stars because of the out of place, conspiratorial literature. A coffee shop should be a neutral place where the free and open discussion of ideas among patrons is encouraged, not one where anti-liberal or anti-conservative propaganda is promoted by the business right at the register.
They don’t even have a bathroom here!
The aggressive anti-vax messaging is very weird and off-putting. There's a screen right above the counter that rotates through various quotes of anti-vaccination misinformation.
The Dirt Cowboy Café offers unquestionably the best coffee and pastries I’ve ever tasted! The owner is super friendly, engaging and personable, and I understand he makes the pastries himself. Amazing! I encourage anyone who lives near or visits Hanover to stop by his coffee shop for a real treat. You won’t regret it!
Let's start with the minor downside. It was a rainy day so the outside seating was not an option and there is really nowhere to sit inside. Coffee (Double Dirt Cowboy) and breakfast croissant though were fantastic as was the service.
Coffee is ok, baked goods are nice. Service is hit or miss and it's often confusing who's ordered and who hasn't. They're also selling a bunch of anti-scientific and weird anti-vax books and internet printouts these days, which is a big turnoff.
Good bakery and coffee for a quick morning bite.
Most unfriendly staff I have ever seen. They don’t accept coins and show no response to the customers’ request. Won’t have anything there anymore!
Far from the old drip filter cafe with interior seats, the current setup is a cafe counter with a roasting operation. Happy for them making it to 30 years! The dark roast beans were excellent. The iced mocha was just average, but I enjoyed sipping it outside. Weird and kinda off-putting that they featured a pile of autographed Dr. Faucci conspiracy books.
Loved the cafe mocha, & the chocolate and almond croissants. Very nice service too. Outdoor seating out front. Highly recommended!
Amazing Cafe, great service, love the books especially the fact that they are carrying Robert F Kennedy’s book. honored to have interviewed him about it and Highly recommend and I’ll recommend to my social media as well. Erin Elizabeth healthnutnews.
Cute coffee shop but summer hours are 7:30-2pm and they are not updated on google. Drove over here for nothing
Sad to discover this coffee shop promotes anti-vaccination conspiracy drivel--printed "articles" and books in the store prominently displayed by the register area. Loved visiting this place anytime I was in Dartmouth, but no more.
Hanover wouldn’t be the same without Dirt!!!
When I was in high school I tried applying here for my first job. I wrote on my application that I wanted to work there because I liked the way it smelled. One of the art room girls at school said that was stupid and I shouldn't say that, and this was back in the day when getting a whole new paper application and filling it out again would've been monumentally difficult, so I just gave up on my dreams and applied to the Foodstop instead and they hired me on the spot. I wonder sometimes though about the parallel universe me who got to be a barista back before that was even a word.
Where to start?!?! LOVE this place, great coffee, great non-coffee options and pastries! Cranberry crunch muffin - YUM - I do miss being able to sit in since Covid restrictions hit - hope they will open that up again as it was a nice atmosphere. I also love supporting local so it's always a win-win when I go here!
