Locally owned coffee shop with the best coffee in KC. Do yourself a favor, stop by and get a pastry and coffee. Prices are the same as SB but better coffee. Support local businesses it really does matter.

My favorite coffee shop in KCMO. They have great latte options... my favorite is their season sweet potato latte. It is heavenly. They also have a nice choice of light food and pastry options.

Love this place -I've been coming here for years! It's definitely a Kansas City classic with outstanding craftsmanship and lovely seasonal flavor combinations. The plants and sunlight are also a vibe 👌

Really neat little place! It was quite busy and I struggled to hear my dining companions, but I think that's just the case with me in crowded restaurants. Had a delicious iced green tea and a bowl with yogurt, granola, blackberries, and lime. So tasty! I had grazed at breakfast despite knowing better and wasn't hungry enough to finish my brunch, which made me so sad! Hope I can come back and order one another time.

The only negative thing I’d say is that they advertise “$3.00 8oz Drip Coffee” on their menu, but sometimes they ONLY have “Premium Blends” so it ends up being $4.50 for an 8oz Drip Coffee. Please offer both options… a $3.00 8oz as advertised on the menu and a $4.50 premium blend as an option. It’s not a deal-breaker, it’s just confusing how you advertise one thing but charge for something else w/o an option to opt-out.

Great coffee, also really like the matcha lattes here. It’s mixed/blended well with no chunks. Just smooth! If you dine in, they give you a number to bring you your food. The drinks are picked up at the counter though so don’t leave without them! Cute interior with a lot of open space and huge windows to bring in natural light. Can get a little noisy since it is a social setting with music playing in the background but I’ve brought my laptop here to work a handful of times and never had an issue.

The food I had was good. The drip coffee is great. The prices are jaw dropping. Turns out I was over charged from what is printed on the menu but can't go back and do anything about it. I can't distinguish if this was an accident or if some sneaky cashier is skimming an extra dollar or two from every patron. Yes it's only a couple bucks but it's a bad impression that's unethical; 16oz coffee ($3.90) and a breakfast sandwich ($11.25) came to $18+ after tax and before tip so.... I should have paid better attention and recommend y'all do too. I think the menu changes frequently here too since Google maps and Yelp has recent photos of the menu and it's different from today's offerings...some same, some different, some absent. Also, on the second floor (biggest dining area) there are very few power outlets for laptops, cell phones etc. Count me as an outlier, but I'm out. Not returning here.

We are visiting KC for the NFL draft, we had breakfast and coffee here. This place blew me away!!! The coffee is phenomenal! They had a wide variety of home baked goods. We had a sausage and egg sandwich that was so fresh and so perfectly cooked!! The coffee shop has three levels, we sat on the open rooftop, that was so cute with an outdoor fireplace! If your in town, this place is a MUST!!

Came here on a visit from NY. Had an excellent matcha latte and the pastries were divine (I had the kouighn-aman but I'm sure they're all delicious!) Also had a yogurt dish with granola that was really nice (granola was so good). There's plenty of seating on multiple floors and some nice cozy areas with couches and armchairs.

The design of the building and cafe is wonderful. However all of their pastries even the ones, that are traditionally made with out animal products, include animal exploitation and abuse. They also have $1.25 discount on lattes/cappuccinos that support animal abuse. Go to Blip Roasters instead.

Nice ambiance, plenty of spaces to sit and work from, wifi connection was good, coffee was great, staff was very nice. Wish they had more vegan options in the bakery, but overall very nice experience.

The blondie I had was excellent. The coffee was a trendy cup of coffee. It's got lots of natural light, but the seating was to fit an aesthetic, not really comfortable. Overall it was fine. I came looking for a bakery and was disappointed at the limited options. The building is older, the floors are worn and the grout is so aged it looks. The barista was a bit too cool for school. I wouldn't necessarily go back unless I needed a place to work for a while and it was nearby.

They apparently "don't cut" bread. They sell bread that is pretty good but they won't cut it into slices for you if you buy it. They also don't provide you with any way to cut it yourself so there's really no way to eat it there. Probably one of the stupidest things I've ever heard for a bakery to have a non bread cutting policy.

The Good: delicious pastries - my husband loved the Oatmeal Cookie especially. For me they have some gluten-friendly options. The selection changes frequently but I had the Apricot Almond Financier that was very good. There is beautiful and ample seating on the upper floors. The Bad: they offer no sugar free syrups, which means anyone who is trying to watch their sugar intake (type 1 diabetic for example) don’t get to have any of the fun beverages. They say it’s because they make their syrups in house… but they must buy the sugar. I’m not sure why they couldn’t buy some agave or monk fruit and have at least one sugar free option.

Coffee was great (I don’t drink coffee but my friend does and he liked it). Vibe was immaculate with tons of seating, great plant life, and floor to ceiling windows with great natural light.

Re: only the Plaza cafe: will never purchase there again after having done so many times. It's great if you like being coldly told that you need to use the restroom at ANOTHER cafe or restaurant because they've chosen to close theirs; immature, self-absorbed staff who seem to think they're in Brooklyn; and overpaying for the privilege of all this, including average coffee, with no acknowledgment of tips. This place simply doesn't take their clientele seriously and has left no reason to go there.

The pastries were so good! Super flaky and yummy! The inside had a very modern and industrial vibe.

Especially loved sunbathing on the rooftop next to the fire on a sunny winter day while enjoying a delicious cappuccino. Such a great location with great coffee - I can’t comment on the food.
