I have followed chef Darwell around for 10 years. I have been to all three locations that were open in central MS. I have also ordered gallons of ettouffe during corona that Darwell delivered. One will not find a chef that cares more about the food quality, the best ingredients, and the best presentation. Chef Darwell is the real deal.

Visiting from Missouri....This place was recommended to us by family & our b & b owners. The atmosphere was fun.... George was outside for entertaining. He was awesome! Friendly, even let my son hold his guitar for a picture with him... The guy cooking was super friendly & wonderful! My son enjoyed his shrimp! Took off 2 stars bcuz the food was just so so.... and I think I got charged $2 or $3 for water.... Usually water is free when u order it. I had the Gumbo and was expecting perfection.... it was just "ok" Portions weren't very big for the price.... I'd probly go back & try something different if I ever make it back.

I saw Darwell’s on DDD last year. So glad we checked it out! The crawfish etufee was some of the best I’ve ever had! Friendly family style service and unexpected ambiance. We’ll be back next year!

Some of the best food on the Gulf Coast. Not as big of a menu as the original restaurant, but they are slowly adding to it. But the quality and taste is superb. This is one of those "local spots" that all the local people know about. Always friendly service and sometimes music on the weekends. Check them out. Update: I'd like to add to my original statement about Darwells being some of the "best food on the gulfcoast". It's actually some of the best you will eat anywhere. It's always top of my list when I tell people from out of town where to eat at. Don't forget to try their homemade desserts. I tried the caramel bread pudding today, and it was done of the best bread pudding I've ever eaten. Make sure you don't miss out on Darwell's unique experience and food.

Amazing restaurant, from the food to the southern hospitality! The photo with the larger plate was from 2019. 4 years later and it’s still just as good!! The Crawfish Étouffée and Red Beans & Rice are my favorite! Darwell’s a must when I’m in Mississippi!

I am allergic to seafood now and they have an alternative to the shrimp and grits. It is pork and grits which is out of this world!! It is a 14 hour pork loin roast that is shredded and is a combination I would have never thought of! And the grits are absolutely perfect- smooth and creamy! Excellent place to eat and enjoy an eclectic atmosphere with enjoyable music for everyone!

I showed up to eat here twice (once at 7:30 on Thursday and once at 1:30 on Sunday) and they had closed early both days. I was pretty understanding the first occasion, given I did show up about 30 mins before they were closed, but the following time I was there an hour and a half before their scheduled closure. That’s pretty frustrating. I honestly really wanted to try this place, but I’m not coming back here a third time just for them to be closed again. If you’re looking to eat here maybe call in advance.

Only been once but it was simply delicious. Inside & outside seeting. Food was fast and hot. Home cooked taste. Authentic is the word that comes to mind. Owner checked on us to make sure we were enjoying. Definitely recommend and I'm going again any time I'm in the area.
