Good coffee. That's all I can say. This place has very poor service for a first time experience at a restaurant. We started out being on a waiting list for an hour where they asked us to sit at tables outside, where we could have been served food by the way. When we did get seated we ordered coffee which showed up promptly, but we didn't even get to eat the food we ordered because it took another hour of waiting for it to be cooked before we gave up waiting and decided to leave. How long does it take to make a pancake and some crapes? Our 9 month old child was hungry and they didn't even think to try and check on us even when she started fussing from being hungry. I am thankful that I had baby food in her diaper bag to at least feed her even though we ordered a pancake for her. We had our coffee drank and waited another 40 minutes for our food with no one checking on us between that. Then when we went to leave the waitress said your food was ready and ask if we want it packed to go... If it is ready why wasn't it being brought out? There was even a table of 4 seated 15 minutes after us that had all of their food and was boxing it up before we finally gave up. This was supposed to be a nice brunch for our 2 year anniversary trip to two harbors and we had to go get food from a gas station. Very upsetting.

It was a 10 min wait to get table waitress halfassed wiped the table down Waited 40 minutes for our food that wasn’t even 100 degrees cornbeef Benedict. Cornbeef was so dry it was unrea The other meal was supposed to have in over easy egg that was fried hard requested another over easy egg and it took 15 minutes to get that and that meal was cold as well or not 100° The hot chocolate like drinking hot skim milk with a little bit of chocolate flavoring Now the hygiene seems to be the only time any of the staff that I could see wash their hands when they stuck their hands in the sanitize bucket to clean the tables because my waitress seem to constantly digging in her ear and messing with her face she would take dirty plates back and come back out and not wash your hands and still mess with her face and wipe her face that’s really poor hygiene just in general So if you don’t mind waiting a really long time for mediocre food and poor hygiene staff this is a place for you if not find somewhere else

*Be prepared, I wrote a novel* 😂 This is a cute little place to stop in for breakfast or lunch. We went late Monday morning for breakfast and did not have to wait to be seated. We even got to pick where we wanted to sit, which I love. I put one less star for a few minor reasons. The service wasn't bad, the waitress just seemed indifferent about being there, which made it seem like she was indifferent about us being there if that makes sense. I was also very excited to try the Scandinavian breakfast. I had seen menus in other reviews and between that and the Northwoods latte, I was very excited to try this place. In fact, my husband wasn't even hungry but I made us stop here anyways just for these menu items. Long story short, they were out of the Scandinavian breakfast... ☹️ Maybe tape over items that you're out of on the menu outside the door or the menus handed out to the table? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I ended up ordering Grandma Bergman's Swedish pancakes (pictured with my husband's order of the Harbor breakfast) which was very delicious so maybe it was meant to be. ❤️ Oh, and they had great vegetarian and vegan options! Also pictured is the iced Northwoods latte that I ordered to go. It was delicious! They definitely have good coffee. PRICE: We spent $32 on two breakfasts, one coffee, and a 18% tip. 👍 Overall, I would come here again. I'd be excited to try some of their other menu items!

We had their egg rancheros. Not good. Guacamole was old, turning brown. They topped it off with old dried up corn kernels. It would have been nice with chopped tomatoes on top. I had regular coffee and that was bad. Expected better from a restaurant named the Vanilla Bean. Won’t be back!!

Everything I was hoping for, and more. Great stop after a long drive.

I've been here a few times, and the last two times I've been disappointed. This time, many items were sold out, and it took 45 minutes for a very basic breakfast when it wasn't very busy at all. Also, they offer gluten-free bread, but you can't have it toasted. It seems very simple to toast in the oven or purchase a separate toaster? 3 different people wanted gluten-free toast but were turned down, three people at three different tables within 20 minutes.

This was our first time eating IN the restaurant. Very good experience - clean facility, very friendly staff (even though they seemed short staffed and very busy!), great service and tasty food! We realized after we ordered they had cranberry wild rice bread - so we each ordered a piece toasted. I had the traditional eggs Benedict with hashbrowns - as you can see, it all blended together very well (forgot to take a before pic!). Looking forward to next time!

We hadn't been there in years. The food was just as good as the first time we tried it. The staff was small so be nice nice if things are taking longer than you expected.

Was disappointed when we stopped on the way back from vacation. There were three tables open, we had a party of 7. We were fine splitting up into two tables. The man that greeted us was rude, and made it clear that he was fine with us going somewhere else…..so we went to Judy’s down the road and it was great. So go to Judy’s instead!

Breakfast was great. We forgot our credit card at the table when we left. Kevin was very willing to mail it to our home in ND.

My husband and I went here hoping that the food was as good as some of the reviews were. Unfortunately, the bad reviews were right. We waited for several minutes before we even saw a waitress. After we saw her, it took several more minutes for her to seat us, even though the place was half empty. After we were seated, it took at least 15-20 minutes before she took our order, then at least half an hour for our food to come out. My husband got the walleye sandwich and it tasted unbelievably bland. The fries he got were worse than Burger King. I got whatever sandwich had the wild rice bread. The sandwich itself was okay, but it was very greasy, considering it was just a sandwich with lunch meat on it. The chips I got with it were overcooked and CAKED with salt. Neither my husband nor I could eat any chips without wiping the salt off with a napkin. Honestly we wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt because we thought it was just the one waitress running everything. But we found out that there were two chefs in the kitchen. That being said, I have no idea how a simple sandwich took more than half an hour to make. All in all, would not recommend. The service was awful, the food was not good or reasonably priced, and my husband and I had stomaches afterwards. Honestly, I would just go to the Culver's down ther road.

This place is terrible. We were here for over an hour. The food was very salty. I ordered the walleye sandwich that didn't have any taste. The bun was burnt. Wouldn't recommend

This is a delightful restaurant. Our host Reinhardt, (Reinhart) was so personable. He was very attentive and gave great recommendations. The menu is a nice size and we liked that it wasn't so extensive that it's difficult to chose a selection. The food choices are unique and the Turkey sandwich was delicious and the homemake chips were the best! The food portions are very generous and three of our foursome, ended up with to go boxes. We are from near the Twin Cities and have been to the North Shore countless times and are definitely planning another outing up north to include the Vanilla Bean soon. The coffee is excellent too. This is a great asset for dining in Two Harbors. Very cozy setting and relaxing experience.

Great little place for breakfast. Drove past several times and finally dropped in. Great service, great food, wonderful coffee options. I had a chai tea latte, hashbrowns, eggs (properly cooked over easy), toast and sausage links. They were out of the hash... Definitely going back to try it. This is nothing fancy but just what I wanted!
