Went here for a wedding reception and everything we ate was SOO good
The Local is an iconic Minneapolis Irish bar with excellent food, friendly staff, and a comfortable environment.
Hands down the best Mother's Day Brunch I've ever had. Other places were booked solid but there was plenty of room here. The Eggs Benedict are top of the line with plenty of bearnaise. My husband and I went here on our honeymoon many years ago and I'm happy to say it's still great.
Absolutely the worst experience I've had. Having a late night snack with my family and friends while eating a rat was walking over all of our feet and the establishment new they had a rat problem in fact the manager of the restaurant said you met my little friends I see. do not recommend this restaurant will not go back.
A rat ran though the feet of our party, people at our table yelled "rat!". The manager rushed to tell us that they knew they had a rat problem and would bring the check immediately, as if you charge people after such a disgusting experience. Never going back.
Big fan of this place, the Irish pub set up is very cool
Great place to meet friends and have a drink and a bite. They have a large selection of Irish Whiskey, but there home distilled house brand is actually pretty good too.
Super awesome inside and really good food. Went with some coworkers after work and we all enjoyed it. Service was awesome!
This place was a great time. Good food, great staff, very cool atmosphere, and the fastest service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. My mom had the cod sandwich and I had the pot roast sandwich. We both agreed they needed more sauce, but otherwise the meals were great!! Would recommend if you are in Minneapolis!
Love the atmosphere. Wings were yummy. Fish and chips needed some salt and should be served with lemon. Asked and received. My only issues were the high top was uneven, the food runner was auctioning off food, and the entrees came out way to fast. We were still eating our app. Server was good too.
Great Irish pub with an authentic look and feel. Food is amazing, beer and whiskEy variety has something for everyone. Unique cocktails available.
I literally spent 15 minutes in my table without getting any menus. It was not particularly crowded. Left for the restaurant next door instead.
The service and outdoor dining was great. The food and drinks not so much.
Normally I wait 24 hours before review, but this is an exception. I'm here right now before a concert. Initially it was great, but it went downhill. Food is great, but the service is part of the problem. I don't know why the host in the front of the house decided to seat a visibly drunk, rowdy group of 13 people who were SCREAMING throughout right next to us when the rest of the restaurant was empty. We asked to be seated elsewhere but we're seated in a different part of the same area with the large crowd. Not happy. Also, this restaurant is either understaffed, disorganized or both. The server was clearly overwhelmed, the chef had no idea where to drop off food (which the server should be delivering food but whatever), and the manager did absolutely nothing. If the service was better, I'd be back. The food is great, loved the fish and chips and the pub pretzels. I really enjoyed the food. But I'm extremely unhappy with how things are handled here. Literally waiting for the check to leave ASAP. Not recommended.
Was first seated in the back of the restaurant and when asked to move to a specific table was told it was for a larger party. 10 minutes a party of 2 was sat there. The same size party I had. Other than that everything was great
This place is so elegant and beautiful! Not only was the atmosphere really nice, but the service and food was just as good. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Irish pub food. I had the Fish & Chips while my boyfriend ordered The Reuben and We washed everything down with a Guinness and a Strongbow Cider. For dessert, we shared a slice of Irish Cream Cheesecake which was SO good! The prices here are a little higher than your standard Irish Pub, but the atmosphere and décor is just so nice that it makes it all worth it! Give this place a try!
Cara was the best bartender, made me feel very comfortable and had great recommendations on food. She was very personable and made my first time arriving back since the pandemic exceptional. Please go and ask for her!
I love going to pubs and the local definitely met my expectations and beyond. We had a party of six and were able to get in and seated. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. I've never been here so I wasn't sure what to expect. If your looking for a great place to hang out with atmosphere then I recommend highly.
Good staff. Good food. For all of the windows, the space is very dark and set up kind of weird for me, with lots of little spaces (snugs). I wish it was more open. Great patio.
The local looks cool but what’s better looking is there food those tater tots really hit the spot with the spicy nicey catsup and that flatbread went crazy also good brews if you into that cause I know I am
