Best coffee drinks in the cities! Their cold brew is so delicious!! My husband also loves their chai lattes. Please go try this local coffee .
Epic coffee, lovely baristas!
There's still a million signs about having people mask as if it weren't a coffee shop where people eat and drink. The staff are behind plexiglass and were wearing the biggest, thickest masks I've ever seen. I couldn't understand them. I'm sorry, but I need to find another shop that doesn't remind me of what a traumatizing year 2020 was. Northern Coffee Works can't seem to let it go.
Iced latte was nothing to write home about, however the Lady's Slipper beans for sale make a great cup of coffee at home!
The first proper latte I’ve found in Minneapolis. Consistently perfect lattes, from each barista which is hard to come by at other coffee shops I’ve tried on the south side of Mpls.
NC has a beautifully crafted, creamy, lightly roasted cappuccino. Yum. They used to share this space with the Angry Catfish (which is now in a separate building down the) and that was a cool combo = Surly bikes and good coffee. So all that space is now a big roomy coffee shop with a few reminders of the bike shop. Bygones. So a really good place to sit and have a coffee. And a very tasty coffee indeed. Parking is on the street. Great place.
Fav coffee shop for the chill vibes, Nordic Industrial aesthetic, and incredible coffee. Maple oat latte slaps
This is one of my favorite coffee shops! This shop has a warm and cozy ambience that is great for studying or getting work done. However what really sets Northern Coffeeworks apart is their selection of well-crafted drinks. The espresso has a rich, smooth, and well-balanced flavor profile. The lattes are beautifully layered, with a nice balance of espresso, steamed milk, and foam. Most importantly, their drinks are always consistent! Overall, I would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a great selection of well-done drinks or just a great place to get some work done.
Found this place just surfing Google Maps. Decided to stop by to do some studying and work. I think it’s one of my favorite coffee shops in the twin cities now. Great interior design and vibes. Enjoyed the North Shore Latte I got (part of the winter menu, had brown sugar syrup and cardamom bitters). Would recommend coming here! There’s also a pastry bakery right next door which is convenient if you’d like to get a pastry there and coffee here. From some of the photos online, I thought it was going to be smaller but it was bigger than I expected and had plenty of seating and tables for studying. Music is pleasant and a tad quieter than some shops which I prefer.
Cortado and cold brew in winter. Both are great! The berry peach is just okay. The place here is very spacious and there are lots of peripheral products.
Excellent coffee and great rotating seasonal coffee drinks. Nice space to meet folks and chat, or work.
Good food and vendors markets but I wish they were dog friendly
This was really great coffee and a nice place to relax. Unique drinks. A pumpkin spice with an Eastern influence. Maple flavored drinks. Very yummy. Lots of sitting space. Cute glassware and clothing available to show your love of the place.
((TLDR; Delicious Coffee Drinks. Best customer service in the metro area IMO! ABSOLUTELY recommend driving out of your way to at least sample them!)) I am a Starbucks coffee drinker. For those of you that actually enjoy coffee, you should be familiar with what those words mean. They mean I prefer sweetened, semi-caffeinated fluff and not real coffee LOL! My first order was for their Latte and I asked for the Maple Syrup flavor. It was DELICIOUS but not incredibly sweet. It was a true coffee drink. The espresso was decedent, sweet cream was mild, and maple flavoring was exactly what maple syrup should taste like! Us Northerners know what true maple syrup is and this flavor permeated the drink in a way that puts breakfast to shame. It reminded me of youthful mornings with butter covered pancakes and fresh maple syrup poured delicately over them. Best enjoyed with a small fork so you can savor every sweet, maple bite! However, based on my first sentence, this was not what I was expecting. As such, I added about 6 packets of Sugar in the Raw to sweeten it up LOL! Hang on, cause this is a 5-star review. We're not finished folks! I returned to the barista to let them know that I enjoyed the drink, just in case they saw me adding mass quantities of sugar to their already delicious drink. Which is the equivalent to adding Ketchup to a meal in a fine dining restaurant... I also noticed they had a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Yes, I am a basic <expiative deleted>! But this Latte was not just pumpkin spice thrown into a vat of sweet cream as many coffee shops offer. This was a drink made of espresso, mild sweet cream, brown sugar syrup, and a bit of pumpkin spice to top it off. The Northern Lights Latte. This is what sets this shop above all others in the metro area that I have frequented. The baristas absolutely noticed that I over sweetened their Maple Syrup Latte and asked me about it. I let them know that I'm particular to the Starbucks brands of coffee and tend to enjoy Mil
Delicious coffee! Very smooth and flavorful. They have maple as a syrup option, so I recommend to get maple lattes. They have some fun specials too like strawberries and cream latte. Almond milk is not an option, but they do have oat. The space is huge with plenty of seating. It's pretty quiet here compared to other places, which is nice. They do close early by 2pm, so keep that in mind.
Delicious homemade pastries!! Pretty cappuccinos, ideal seating.
Great (and gorgeous) coffee (I had the Cappuccino), wonderful service! Will have to try their food next time.
I’m a recent transplant from Seattle, where I was spoiled for good coffee. This place could hang there. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a relaxing space
I got the tasty maple latte— was sweet and not super bitter. The staff are super nice!!
Loved this coffee shop! The rice matcha latte I had here was amazing and the space is very large for working! Only thing that is a little annoying the open hours are often too short for me to come here to work
