Dovetail is one of the better places for good coffee in Duluth. One of the best places to sit and chat or read. Plenty of room, usually quiet, big open space. Food is very good too, especially the breakfast. Lots of space, not too loud, power outlets and USB ports are abundant. Good food, good place to go. Highly recommended. Parking is on the street.
I first came here with a friend who recommended it. It was fantastic then and fantastic now when I took my Mom here for Mother's Day. We had coffee and quiche, and it was excellent as always. I got a cappuccino and she got the Tanzania drip.
This cafe was always my partner's and I's favorite little date place. Such a warm and cozy atmosphere that's unlike any other cafe I've been to. And the taste of the coffee is about unmatched. We went to multiple cafes in the area, but my partner always swore by their coffee.
We were in town for a wedding and needed a place for Mother’s Day breakfast before heading home. We need vegan and meat options. Dovetail Cafe was the perfect solution. The food was fresh and delicious. We loved the atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. We’ll be back!
Was here for the festival with Dan the monkeyman, the ventriloquist, Finnish guy singing, balloons, bean bag, toss, polka. Fun for the kids. Was there with granddaughter
The coffee was grounds for divorce. The atmosphere was okay but the guy at the register was no help at all. I asked about the coffees and he was of no help. It might help if he didn’t wear a mask.
Great Vegan and vegetarian spot! Was here on Sunday, this place was buzzing. Great everything.
Looked up the menu online to make sure they would have something for everyone. Upon arriving we were very disappointed! Only cookies and 1 scone flavor to choose from on the menu. The pictures and menu are not as they appear online. We left. Not worth going unless you'd like a full over priced breakfast!
Great espresso drinks, helpful staff, baked goods are delicious!
Ordered a 16oz beer and compared to my 14oz Kombucha I would say it was more like 10oz. The Mac and Cheese was pretty dry. I did like my burrito bowl but over $20 for it I expected a bit more food. My bowl was at least well prepared and tasted good.
This place is fantastic! I love the soft jazz and just the right level for easy conversation, and the coffee is perfect! The space is filled with handmade artwork and objects, everywhere I look, I see something I haven't noticed before. I'll be returning for sure!
The service here has slowly declined over the years. When they get busy the coffee orders are slow, never right, and people take your drinks since they don't get your name. Love this place but wow, the drink situation needs to be figured out!!!
I randomly found this cafe and I am so glad I went there. They have vegan/ vegetarian options. Also, they have a wonderful ambience and we crashed a folk music class in practice there.
Actually didn’t order anything because they were sold out of quiche and only had whole milk and oat milk for milk options. But was a neat and clean ambiance with a fairly friendly staff to answer questions.
Lovely place to enjoy a warm drink and talk with friends. I ordered the chai and some tahini sesame cookies. There is a charming character to the space and a nice laid back atmosphere.
Fantastic quiche and great coffee A perfect combo in my book. Very cool atmosphere with local art. Very welcoming. Great place to meet friends for coffee.
Good breakfast sandwich and coffee to go. Nice little boutique inside. I would definitely come back again.
Extremely unwelcoming and unfriendly staff. Just stood there waiting for someone to come to the counter and just got eye rolls and a "umm, you got a question about something?" Why can't you just be like "hi! What can I get you?" Why do you have to sigh and roll your eyes at me when I'm just waiting to be served. I also got plenty of glares when sitting on the bench on my phone minding my own business waiting for my cup of coffee. I seriously don't understand why you guys have to behave this way. You're attitude has Minneapolis written all over it, kinda disappointed to come across that in an otherwise very friendly city.
Not too busy on a chilly weekend day. Tons of room for a quick stop or a study session and the interior is very aesthetic/cozy. Small food menu but the plates looked generous for a coffee place. The market has some very cute local crafts/art.
Love coming here. Gluten free options and the building is gorgeous.
