Bright, welcoming environment. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G coffee! Yummy croissants other treats. Friendly staff. Great spot to take a break on 8th Street in downtown Holland. Update April 2023: I had a “pour over” coffee today. The staff freshly grinds the beans and uses a machine to prepare the coffee via the pour over method. See the video. And get one. It’s delicious!
UPDATE: Since the 2nd remodel in just a few years, the place has lost more than half its seating and all comfort. The seating that is provided now, is uncomfortable and certainly not catered towards regulars looking to work for a few hours or have a semi-private meeting. Their focus must be for grab and go customers. Ferris Coffee took a staple in the Holland community, literally gutted and cut in half any warmth, charm, or functionality the community came to expect.
Bright, fresh, welcoming atmosphere. Great for teleworking or a coffee date. Delicious home brewed iced teas. Nice, strong drip coffee. Would 100% recommend
There is lots of seating here, which is sometimes hard to find in coffee shops! Fast wifi and good teas.
Relaxing atmosphere, helpful people & good drinks
Ferris will always be one of my favorite places - I used to frequent the Grand Rapids shop so I will always make my way to one when I’m in Michigan. You can’t go wrong here, drip is always solid and the seasonal drinks are great too. Pastries are awesome as well!
The coffee is good, especially the pour-over option. Plain croissants are not part of their menu, a missed opportunity that could help balance out the crowded sweet pastry selection. And while the chocolate croissants are good, they carry too much chocolate, making it difficult to pair it with the sweetened lattes available.
Adorable shop! The outside is kind of unassuming but the inside is so cute! The pumpkin spice drink was good the muffins were awesome! We had blueberry and cranberry orange, no pictures because we inhaled them!
Fantastic pastries and good coffee. Downsides are that they're closed on Sunday and they don't have their full pastry menu available a lot of times (not due to being sold out, due to not ordering their full menu some days).
A great and friendly shop to stop in and get some great coffee and local goodies. I would highly recommend.
😍 very happy! I got an iced lavender honey cupiccino & my husband got an iced orange blossom cupiccino, they were both fantastic!
Love the coffee and nice area to stop in a work for a few hours. Also dig the outside seating in the summer next to tulips. Always friendly and never a long wait, although the place can be a little busy from time to time, but what good place isn't? Highly recommend.
Very nice atmosphere for studying, doing some work or simply hanging out with some friends. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Coffee tastes great. No public restroom though!
Excellent espresso served with sparkling water. Nice touch. I've only been to two other specialty coffee shops that routinely do that; Intellegesia in Chicago and Comet Coffee in Arbor. Much appreciated attention to a small courtesy that makes Ferris Coffee a must stop in Holland.
Over 2 hours I saw the Ferris baristas handle the Memorial day rush with professionalism and fast, friendly service! (Even when faced with some difficult patrons) Outstanding staff, good tea and pastry options, quality coffee, and a lovely facility. Excited to return!
Love the light roast coffee! So glad I found it at Meijer’s in North Muskegon.
The banket latte was good
Ordered me a Chai latte and it looks amazing. Tastes fantastic too. I really recommend it. And the design to, just wow (wish I knew how to do this).
Great service and great coffee! Love stopping in on a Thursday for the $3 pour over special!
Out of all the coffee shops in the downtown area, I wouldn't say this one takes first place. The Coffee shop itself is overly modern. It has a marble-like white interior and wooden accent, with tables along the wall as well as seating at the counter. The room felt sterile, almost like I was drinking coffee in a hospital hallway. The coffee itself was very well presented. The designs that they manage with steamed milk are very cutesy and enjoyable. I tried one of their green tea options and there wasn't anything defining about it. it wasn't bad, but it wasn't unique. The service was dull, and unenthused. I came a little later in the day, so I blame a long shift on the wearisome attitude that I had received. The positive that I experience in my visit was the game of chess I had played while there. Having games like chess or checkers available while drinking coffee is a wonderful little add on, and brings life to any coffee shop. I would say that Ferris Coffee is good for those seeking shelter from the rain, and a pleasant place for studying when on break. But, If you want to really experience the "Coffee Shop Vibe," then there are other place in the downtown area.
