The coffee was not rich in flavor or hot. I only went once maybe a different coffee would have been better, I got the vanilla latte.

Best coffee and service around! Their sister location in Detroit is just as good.

Excellent Cappuccino. Good atmosphere with friendly and fast service. Highly recommend going here over Starbucks.

There are some really great things about this cafe. The location and atmosphere are great. And the baristas were really friendly and knowledgeable. I got their coffee flight, which came with an espresso, black coffee, and a small milk based drink. The milk drink was very good, but unfortunately both the black coffee and the espresso were very underextracted. So I can't say I was impressed with the drinks themselves. I also bought some beans which were excellent, but also double the price of the comparable beans I buy from amazing roasters back home. So in summary, great location, staff, and beans, but they need to dial in their drinks, and I don't know if I am willing to pay their premium prices.

Typical downtown coffee shop. Quiet place to sit and relax. It is a bit more expensive than other coffee places around. Buyer beware; if you get a coffee to go, it will be much smaller than what you would normally get in store. You can see it in my photos. They were the same price and "same size." Definitely not worth it.

The coffee was great, atmosphere was uncomfortable and workers not very friendly.

This is the original Madcap in Grand Rapids. It is a little different than the Detroit ship, but a great place to sit for a coffee and work on your laptop for a few.

Can't ask for anything more. Top tier baristas with an approachable vibe. Delicious coffee and accompaniments. Sponsors local artists.

My friend got the the something yam latte. It sounds weird but was actually really good. Came with little roasted marshmallows on top 🤩

can’t go a week without a visit to this cafe. baristas and staff are phenomenal and super sweet. their espresso (available to purchase as well) is top tier. I noticed that I am picky when it comes to espresso and coincidentally out my two favorite coffee shops in GR, both use the La Marzocco espresso machine. If that means anything to you this is your place, if it doesn’t stop in anyway to taste what I’m talking about. I do recommend coming in earlier though, this place is a hot spot on the weekends especially. and try the cafe miel! It’s a favorite i can’t get away from. p.s. they don’t charge you for alternative milk options. I never understood the insane up charge for milk that actually suits my stomach, here you don’t have to worry about that

The place has a very uncomfortable feel to it and the music is extremely loud. I was also not impressed with the overpriced coffee and generally cannot recommend Madcap.

Very expensive and the coffee is just as you would expect it to be lol this is the type of place that troubled millennials go to sit down for hours and type nonsense into their laptops that their parents bought for them.

Can't tell you anything about it, but got in line with two others ahead of us, and I and my party were kicked out because they apparently closed just as I got in. Notably, the people in front of me weren't kicked out despite not having placed their order yet either. Informed the other folks entering the store who weren't in my party that, despite the entrance being open, and people inside sitting and chatting, that they were closed and wouldn't be helped like we were.

It's decent, the vibe is cool, coffee is okay. Location is great. The staff seems a little disinterested (Maybe that's part of the vibe?) not a huge deal, still worth stopping by!

Nice coffee shop. I had the cinnamon latte with oat milk. Seemed to be a little cheaper than other shops. And served in a real ceramic cup. Nice vibe. Overall good spot for coffee.
