If you like your coffee with a side of rude and arrogant staff, then I highly recommend this place.
sandwiches took 30 minutes and were nearly double the price listed online. rude service. have wanted to love this place but leave disappointed every time
Hidden behind Rubiner's cheese mongers is this delightful coffee and sandwich shop. The atmosphere is old school with beautiful tree decor in the dining area. The sandwiches were made with the fantastic cheese from next door and tasted amazing. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
Amazing grilled cheese
Nice place and good coffee and bakeries, however the staff seems to be not up to task and borderline rude. They definitely aren't friendly and give you the sense that they really don't care about you. This is my third time here, and every time I come, I wait more than I should. Despite good food/drinks and atmosphere, staff makes me not want to come back.
I observed this: The person at the register was taking money and credit card touching her face, touching her belly when she showed her belly necklace, touching dirty dishes and touching peoples food without washing hands or wearing gloves. Me: excuse me but could you NOT cut my sandwich and leave it wrapped. I’m having surgery and you are cross contaminating the food. Waitress: this place has germs ….maybe you shouldn’t come to this restaurant for your protection Manager Eric : is there a problem bc we are busy Me: yes I asked her not to unwrap my sandwich bc she is not washing her hands or wearing gloves and cross contaminating food. He was not happy with me!!! So before I left she washed her hands, put on the gloves cut my sandwich!!! Looked at me and said, “I cut your sandwich.” She looked a little stunned. On leaving I said to the manger: you should know that if the board of health saw this you could be shut down. It’s called cross contamination. I don’t know if he had a clue but he did then say you should wear gloves to the waitress. My opinion is if you don’t mind this type of occurrence then go there. The food itself is good if they don’t cross contaminate. Keep an eye out. Isn’t that the law when touching someone’s food??
Delicious super high-end food with a young, good-snobbish French coffee shop/ speakeasy vibe, all happening in a tucked away hard to find corner in downtown Great Barrington.
This is a great quaint sandwich shop tucked in a corner of Great Barrington. All of their cheese comes from the cheesemonger next door, and you can always taste the quality. The environment is spectacular with a beautiful natural woody feel. The sandwichs do often take quite a while to come out (sometimes half an hour plus), but if you're willing to wait, it's definitely worth it!
I was looking forward to this place, and then I was met with the just an awful personality. This guy with a perfectly trimmed beard was just a jerk. I felt very unwelcome here, like he was disturbed that I came over his house and asking him for a cup of coffee. Just a very unpleasant experience. I’d rather go and get a coffee at a gas station then come back here. And I hate gas station coffee.
Adorable little spot, great Chai Tea, a GB staple … But consistently Rude service. I come back frequently hoping it was a one time experience, but it seems the staff here enjoy sticking their nose up at costumers. Nevertheless I’ll try again hoping for a better result. Until then 2stars it is
Glad this spot opened back up. Great paninis, espresso drinks, and ambiance. Food service on the slow end of things but we had no where to be, and the coffees came quickly.
Actually good grilled cheese, great hot chocolate (edit: hot chocolate not as great the 2nd trip), and they have the best brand of potato chips, Pipers Crisps. The sandwich took a really long time both times, finished my chips and 2 drinks long before it was ready, but I'll still be going back.
This is a cafe that has panini sandwiches and great grilled cheese! Located on Main St. In Great Barrington, it's got inside and outside dining. It's a very busy place and the servers are patient and nice. If you're in a hurry, this is not a place to go!
Serves sandwiches with raw egg routinely. 3/4 we ordered looked like the sand which was cooked then a raw egg was put in it.
Google lists this place as a coffee shop. Walk in, looking around. Man behind counter: you look confused. Me: yes, google is listing you guys as a coffee shop Man: what google says is not my problem Me out the door. Don’t know how anything tastes bc I don’t like to buy food from @&#%#*’s. 🤷🏻♀️ Definitely not a welcoming first impression or exchange with staff.
Shared an amazing cheese plate here! Five different types of cheese that were delicious and each had a unique taste. Also ordered a tasty chai. Can't wait to eat here again.
Says they're open until 7 on Saturday, but don't show up at 6:20, because they will look at you weird and tell you they're closed. Can see why some people say the service is bad.
Great for a quiet escape. Jard to find
Cozy, warm and delicious
Nice cafe, down a small alleyway but very close to the Main Street. Had a nice coffee at 4pm whilst others were enjoying cheese and wine!
