First time eating breakfast here....nice seat by the window looking out at Patrick Street...enjoyed the Smoked Hash...plate didn't look large but it was filling and tasted great...only downside was the espresso machine was out of service 😬
I waited almost an hour to get even water or asked uf i want a drink. Apparently, the server forgot my table exists. I crossed the street to renew my parking since I waited so long, and they took my drinks away (coffee and peach belini). I missed maybe 2 min, and when I came back, they acted like it was my fault, no apologies, no offer to bring back my drinks. Not sure if it's racism or they act like that with everybody. I ordered the steak and eggs, and coffee. The expresso machine was broken for me - even though i saw cappucinos on other tables. Again, no apologies, no nothing. The steak was chewey, definitely not a quality steak. I won't be back again, not sure why is it popular.
Nice cozy place. They have good coffee and lattes. I really enjoy their buffalo cauliflower. Prices are reasonable and service is pretty good.
Solid five stars. I've been here at least ten times now and they are impeccably consistent. I order a mocha and they are not to heavy on the syrup. The milk froth is so well emulsified that the foam has an almost creamy thick texture. They also have a good espresso pull and properly roasted bean that has to have been roasted each morning. For food I have been impressed with the technique and constancy of the home fries. They are evenly cooked through and browned well. The Italian eggs Benedict is not over powered by the pesto as I thought, avoiding that I'm the first few times visiting. It's a light and fresh addition to help cut the holidays which is not as heavy as a dinner holidays. It is very light and air filled so you know it was whipped to order. Very delicious and good portions that are edible and not overwhelming I am correctly missing a photo of the Italian Benedict because I was not expecting to do a review of it ;)
Very difficult for babies, not allowed to have a stroller outside. But JoJo’s will. Was asked to get out of the seats that we were in because of our baby.
My friend and I went for brunch. We had to wait over thirty minutes. However, the food and drink were really good! And the service was great! It was noisy, making it difficult to hear
EXTREMELY disappointed!!!!! I'm not from the area and came only due to the Google reviews and veg options. I Googled and actually took an Uber here as I waited for my car to get serviced. I ordered an rish Coffee and French Toast with eggs. The Irish Coffee was okay, the French Toast was terrible! I would've made better myself. Immediately after my last spoonful, the server brought the check. I hadn't even gotten halfway through my drink and I told her I wasn't yet ready to leave and would likely be ordering something else. I asked if there was an issue with that and she said well the lunch crowd is about to come in. She checked on me 2 - 3 times and half an hour later I ordered a second Irish coffee... once again before I finished it, less than 30 mins later she comes back with the updated check saying that the manager stated there was a 2 hour time limit on the table. In all my years of traveling and living all over the world as a woman and minority, and spending lots of time in cafés solo I had never been blatantly put out of one or so openly been shown that I was not welcome! You best believe I will take my patronage elsewhere. I Immediately paid and left with a very bad taste in my mouth... food was mediocre, both bathrooms were filthy and service was terrible. What a disappointment!
Food and service is amazing! Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Nice find downtown and plan to frequent often!
The “tomato bisque soup” was a bowl of parmesan pizza sauce and the menu is a bit misleading because is you opt for something other than “chips” you have to pay $2 extra (do NOT order the tomato soup). The cheesesteak had just meat and was lacking flavor and missing onions and such that you’d expect. Fries were a bit soggy too. Servers were pleasant.
The worst experience ever. The water cups smelled terrible. The servers were rude and re manager was very mean. My child who is 9 didn’t like anything in the menu and they refused to let him eat a bagel while the rest of my family ordered from there. The manager claimed it’s a Maryland law to not bring food from outside and refused to show me a written copy of that law. They charged me a full amount although we didn’t end up eating. Rude rude rude. Never again
Good cafe. Food is solid, service is pretty quick and staff is friendly. Not a ton of seating, so consider reservations.
Rueben sandwich was a little dry. Friend gave vegan breakfast sandwich a thumbs up. Service was good.
Food lacked favor and the coffee was just okay. I couldn't use the salt and pepper shakers because they were rusted and packed with built up dirt all around them. The palce could use a deep clean. Too packed and "cozy" for my taste and the tables are too close together in many areas. Staff was fairly nice and the food did come fast. I had high hopes because of the reviews and it seems some people enjoy it, but don't see myself returning.
Went there today for brunch. I got the Lox Benedict with the potatoes and a side of french toast. Absolutely amazing french toast!!! My first bite made me just stop and think "WOW!" I love french toast. But most places either make it to where it's just taste like toast or they over do it and its just too much sugar. This was absolutely perfect! Even had a slight crisp to it! The Lox Benedict was amazing also! The potatoes were Meh. I love good potatoes but they got 2 out of 3 perfect! So I'll be back!
Casey is the most wonderful, sweet, beautiful warm hearted soul behind a bar. Her old bay bloody mary rocks and her service is impeccable.
This place used to be really good, any latte would be made perfect and nothing in Frederick would beat it, but now the lattes come up room temperature and tasteless, there's no flavor and it taste like room temperature milk, same for the hot chocolate. The service is fast and nice, but the coffee is no longer good. On top of that, the food could be better, but it's not as bad as how the coffee has gotten, im honestly disappointed in the decline, it could be the baristas or the coffee itself. Maybe in the future it will do better.
My niece couldn't wait to bring me to Cafe Nola. I'm sorry about the experience we had, she was embarrassed for recommending this place. The cafe espresso machine was down so no hot drinks! The food was cold. I asked for well done wings and they're still bleeding at the joints. Heavy sigh. It sucks being a foodie when you have a disappointing experience.
Coffee is sooo good! Food is excellent, as well. I had the extra dirty Chai Latte.
Micah for the win at the bar! She makes a proper mimosa! Breakfast/brunch was nice. Affordable and worth the trek! Will visit here again soon! Just a bit of juice 🤭
This Cafe is the bomb!!! In the heart of Frederick. I was visiting with a friend of mine who frequents Cafe Nola often. When you walk in the staff comes across very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere brings almost a familiarity, as if you have been here before. The atmosphere is upbeat and inviting. I believe it was the owner waiting on our table. Her and my friend knew each other. She was soooo sweet and patient with us. She recommended a staff created coffee. And OMG this thing was so rich and creamy and I'm not one for an iced coffee. I just ordered a bowl of cream of broccoli soup and yum!!! It was full of flavor and delish!! I highly recommend this nostalgic Cafe!! You won't be disappointed. Whether your on lunch break or visiting with friends over a meal this is the place to be! 100 stars!!
