It's cute and coffee was pretty good.
It seems to be a local favorite. All kinds of people came on a Tuesday morning. Excellent service from the ladies working there. Wife and daughter had Matcha Tea 🍵. They loved it...and the price was very reasonable. Mainly 2-chaired tables with 2-cornered 4-chaired tables made it quite cozy. Loved the nice paintings on the wall from a local artist. Breakfast sandwiches were not bad. Just a little skimpy on the filling for the price you pay.
Such wonderful workers! Absolutely delicious coffee! Will be back!

CBD is an exceptional coffeehouse in Portland, Maine. They are coffee roasters and purveyors of the finest unique coffees and have a wide variety. They've been around a long time and are very active in contributing to the welfare and integrity of the community. There are a lot of coffeehouses in Portland. But there's only one where I meet friends for coffee and that's Coffee By Design.
I love the atmosphere but was so disappointed with the chai. If you want warm milk with sugar, order their chai. If you actually want a chai with any spice at all, go to Buzz on Exchange St.
They have very nice coffee and a ton of good options regarding whole beans for sale. They also have a decent selection of coffee gear to help newbies start out.
The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the food is Awesome!

Good coffee place. Their bacon sandwich was really good. The blueberry scone was good if maybe a bit softer than expected. Coffee was good. The space is also quite cool and seems very friendly.
Popped in on Saturday morning after breakfast around the corner. I ordered a matcha latte w/ soymilk to sip on while walking around the city. Latte was deliciously creamy and hot, and the matcha had a wonderful flavor. I came back on Sunday morning and ordered an espresso, almond milk latte, and a blueberry scone. Delicious latte and oh wow, that blueberry scone was the best I’ve ever had! Very dense and buttery with a hint of natural sweetness from the blueberries. Mmmm it really hit the spot. Such a cute little coffee shop with lots of vegan & GF options. I’ll definitely be back!
We get our coffee here for the office. I had to bring two bags in to have them grind it. They were so quick about it. Amazing service
Not a great place to work, there were several flies buzzing around. Wifi wasn't too great, ended up using a hotspot. Cappacino was meh. Overall, not that good.
Excellent. We liberals (Portland is a liberal town, and this places embodiment showcases our liberalism) have a lock down on everything related to coffee. Sourced well and responsibly, staff taken care of by ownership, superb quality product, appropriate price point. Best coffee place in Portland. Bold statement, I know.

Quaint little café that makes a stellar dirty chai. Nice selection of pastries and baked goodies as well with a really chill and relaxing atmosphere. This location was a stone throw away from the Black Elephant hostel where we spent the weekend. It was the start to my mornings. Strong recommend.
Travelling from out of town, this place is really cute! Their summer specials are well-designed, I would definitely come back if I was in Portland again :)

I found the place that I'm going to get coffee the rest of the time I'm in this area. The staff was super nice and the coffee made perfect for my taste.
