Iconic. Old school. Delicious. Order anything w/ debris. Would have left 5 stars but Mother’s apparently the only restaurant in the South doesn’t offer sweet tea?

A must if you're in New Orleans. Line was disappointing however it was expected. Worth the wait. Subtracted for service and the line because seems there could be some more efficient ways of servicing to minimize the line. Sampled an array of different foods, Shrimp Creole, Jerry's, seafood gumbo, bread pudding, and chicory coffee. Completely recommend!

It was delicious! I had a half a fried catfish po'boy, an order of fries, and bread pudding. The bread pudding is a must have, it is better than homemade. The servings are very generous!

I recently had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. I must say, the food was absolutely delightful. The dishes had a homemade quality to them, with flavors that reminded me of the delicious meals I enjoy in the comfort of my own home. The menu offered a variety of options, and everything I tried was delicious. From the hearty breakfast options to the comforting lunch specials, each bite was packed with flavor and made me feel right at home. The quality of the ingredients and the care put into the preparation truly shone through in every dish. While the restaurant is not an expensive restaurant, I did find the prices slightly higher than expected considering the overall experience. However, given the taste and quality of the food, I still found it to be a worthwhile dining experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're looking for a satisfying and tasty meal, I would recommend giving this restaurant a try.

It has a very casual atmosphere and To be honest seems like a restaurant version of school cafeteria- although with much better food. The food was great and the service was relatively fast. Overall a pretty good restaurant. They're known for their baked ham which is pretty good so I recommend that as well as their gumbos.

This was a recommendation from a friend that unfortunately did not live up to its expectations. The biscuits here were alright, but the rest of the breakfast meal we received was below the standard quality I would expect. You’ll often see a line out the door for this restaurant, which I thought was surprising after trying it myself. The service here was excellent but lacked my personal taste for food.

Absolutely delicious breakfast food hands down! The pancakes, although very simple, flavor was amazing, you honestly don't need the syrup due to the sweetness of the cakes. The crawfish accompanied with the grits and the crawfish omelet were also amazing, flavor out of this world. While visiting the city every time we walked or drove by there was a line wrapped around the building, after experiencing this food it makes sense. 10/10 will recommend.

There is a reason that this restaurant always has a line and is always busy. Even though it seems like a fast food diner, the food is surprisingly tasty. I ordered the seafood extra extra. If you order that, you better like things fried. My catfish was good. My shrimp was decent. My oysters were wonderful. Unfortunately, the first time I went I ordered the greens. They are a little overcooked and a little too tangy. I also ordered the red beans and rice which was a little heavy on the rice and light on the beans. The second time, I ordered the cheese grits which were astoundingly good. And I ordered the green beans with tomatoes. A little different than I was expecting but still good. The gumbo was quite good, but the jambalaya was a little too dry. The bread pudding is so good you will want to order your weight in it.

Between the ambiance, staff interaction, and ordering/dining style Mother’s make you feel like you’ve almost taken back a step in time. I will say it looks small when you first enter, but the seating continues to appear the farther you go back. Highly recommend checking it out, it was definitely delicious.

the food was good! I would have ordered the biscuits if they came with gravy but my friend ordered it and it comes with cheese and the meat of your choice. the mimosas, not worth it. for the price it’s basically just over priced orange juice. the plates had a weird smell to them like they weren’t washed very well. but over all still 4 stars for the omelettes.

Best breakfast ever! Super fast- even with a line out the door- goes quick! Can fit large parties in the back!! The breakfast special was amazing! It came with a choice of meat- which I recommend the sausage, two eggs ur way, grits, and a huge biscuit!! The ham omelette was amazing too!!

The original New Orleans Po' Boy sandwich experience... Had to wait about 30 minutes in line to get served. Worth the wait though to experience this historic New Orleans eatery and their Famous Ferdi Special.

Mother's is NOLA cooking at it's best. We stopped in for breakfast, and it was so good we ate again for dinner. The line outside was long, but it moved quickly. This is a MUST if visiting NOLA.

Great corner spot. Very unique in and out. My daughter really wanted a po boy and Mother's had great reviews we had to try it. Very flavorful, the bread from other places I've tried was a bit tough but not here. Flaky and delicious. It was our first time in New Orleans and it did not disappoint

I hear you really have to come here for breakfast, but unfortunately I’m not the biggest fan of eggs which probably diminished my experience. Legendary place. I had the seafood gumbo (7.5/10 for me as it is good but if you have family / friends from New Orleans who can cook they would do it better) , the baked ham (5/10 as it was honestly way to dry) and the Red Beans (9.1/10 those were freaking delicious!). They have a huge menu tho and I would definitely say it is worth trying!

Was in town for conference. Went to dinner here with my wife. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Food was served hot and good portions. We had the seafood platter and signature platter (crab etouffee). Enjoyed it.

Making my rounds trying as much food as possible in The Big Easy. Mother’s restaurant was recommended by local friends of a chef we sat with on our flight. I had the Shrimp Creole and bread pudding. They were both delicious, although they didn’t photograph particularly well. Service was great and there was plenty of seating and little wait. My husband had the ham, but maintains, his is better. :-) He loved the green beans. A friend had the gumbo and she loved it. I have another place on my list to try the gumbo though. I am in foodie heaven!

Great food friendly staff. The environment is very casual so expect excellent food with minimal service. The food is simply excellent. I would 100% come back again and get huge portions had I more time.

I saw the sign that they had the world famous ham, so i wanted to give them a try. Order at the counter and have a seat. The restaurant is pretty good in size, and the service was good while ordering and the servers delivering the food. There was an older lady working scolding people to read the sign that says "don't block walkway." Lol... so people READ THE SIGN. Food: Pancake Side of Ham Debris (Shredded Beef on Grits) The pancake was ok. I took a bite and didn't eat the rest. The ham was extremely dry and had no taste at all. So I didn't eat that either. The beef and grits were thehighlightst for me. That was good delicious. I would recommend it.

We ordered the regular shrimp creole and seafood gumbo with a quarter fried chicken white meat with the potatoes salad and red beans n rice. After finishing that when we should have been satisfied, it was so good we also ordered another quarter chicken with cheese grits and turnip greens. It takes 30-45 minutes to get your chicken because they make it to order. We could have even eaten more since it was so amazing. They are big portions; we were just gluttonous lol Best Damm chicken I have had.
