I had a strawberry strudel it was delicious! Had been to several bakeries looking for gluten free and got lucky to find this one.
A friend and I drove an hour this morning from Hopkinsville Kentucky to go to the bakery. We were not disappointed! The cinnamon rolls are out of this world. We bought a lot of things to bring home and hopefully will get to enjoy over the next few days. The cinnamon churros are amazing as well. The owner was super friendly. We will be back!
Cinnamon rolls are crazy good! I have a sweet tooth so that doesn’t help. Great coffee as well.
Best gluten free biscuit I’ve tasted. My daughter even said it tastes like a regular gluten filled biscuit. The crispy bacon is a perfect addition to the yummy biscuit. I also had biscuit & gravy. The gravy is delicious and full of sausage.
Great products! The strawberry dream and chocolate dream cakes are to die for! I can't wait to try other food.
This is an amazing place, my daughter has celiac disease and we love to go an have breakfast. The food is absolutely delicious. Biscuits gravy with cinnamon roll and a latte. Go and eat

We just learned about this place when our daughter was home from Chicago on a "walkabout". Since some of us in this house live with gluten/lactose intolerance, we visited the very next weekend and we were not disappointed! The Fireside Latte made with oat milk was heavenly and the cinnamon roll was soooo good. We are newbies but we will definitely be back to try more of the menu. As a bonus, the owner and her young helper were so sweet, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We need as much of this as we can get in BG!
Another wonderful find in downtown BG! Gluten-free or not, very good Turkey Bacon Avocado Toastie. And a refreshing Lemon Ginger Kombucha from The Fermented Fizzy
What an absolute gem! We drove out of the way while traveling because everything looked delicious online and we were not disappointed! We all loved our sandwiches (grilled cheese, pizza toasties and chicken salad baguette). They were so melty and flavorful. We tried multiple desserts and while all were yummy the warm cinnamon roll was the favorite! We would absolutely detour off the freeway again to stop here!
Fantastic sandwiches! Best I've had in a while, and they have a great non-dairy provolone you can substitute. The toffee nut latte with oat milk is gonna have to be a repeat order.
Went today for both breakfast and then again for lunch and grabbed a whole bag of yummy stuff to take home. No exaggeration the best gluten free breads and desserts I've ever had. My boyfriend doesn't have celiac and was also very impressed. Said he couldn't even tell it was gluten free and loved his bacon biscuit at breakfast and his ham toastie sandwich at lunch. We enjoyed our coffee and dessert as well. Also really appreciated the use of local, fresh milk and eggs. Absolutely loved this place and highly recommend for those or with celiac diseases. It was such a nice change to be able to eat out without worrying about the chance of cross contamination.
Such a great downtown gem! Get there early for all the sweet goodies and then enjoy an excellent chicken salad baguette for lunch!
Awaken Bakery is a must-try for anyone who enjoys a sweet or savory treat! My daughter and I both have celiacs, my partner has no dietary restrictions. Regardless, we have loved returning we’ve had. And I’m not ashamed to admit it’s a weekly stop for us. Do you like cookies? Cupcakes? Cake? Muffins? Cinnamon Rolls? Biscuits? Etc? Well, then, get yourself to Awaken and treat yourself. The baked items are delicious- soft, fluffy, moist - and NOT the gf items from 20 years ago that taste of cardboard. Got a hankering for panini? Tiana makes the best toasted sammies. My fave is the ham and cheese but I have no doubt they’re all scrumptious. We’ll continue to be weekly fixtures, supporting Awaken, and the local community. Awaken provides a much needed and delicious business in the BG area.

Every visit, I am left ready go right back! Every item Awaken puts out is top quality and often leaves me questioning if it could really be gluten-free! It has closed the gap for wanting more out of gluten-free desserts. ‘Spectacular’ only scratches the surface!
Incredible. Simply incredible. I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2021. Even as someone familiar with gluten-free eating, it’s difficult to constantly explain myself and my dietary needs at restaurants. Awaken Bakery is a place I can eat with confidence, and I don’t have to explain a single thing. And can we just talk about the QUALITY of these baked goods?! The cinnamon rolls were out of this world, and the biscuits were so flaky and buttery I nearly cried from joy. My whole family enjoyed breakfast, and didn’t even realize it was gluten-free. Simply incredible. Please support this amazing local business, even if you aren’t a gluten-free eater.
