This might have been the worst service experience I have had in years. The food was fine but it took over 30 minutes for our drinks to be delivered after ordered, my coffee was completely cold. The mimosas were lack luster being not much larger than what would fit in a shot glass for $9. Our waitress after taking our orders, we never saw again. We couldn't order more drinks had we wanted, which we did, and we had to go check out selves out, no one would give us our tabs. Also a table of 5, we got added gratuity which was ridiculous for a table of 5 of which we saw our waitress ONCE. Will not be going back.

Great food. The servers who refilled water were super friendly, but probably had to refill it 12-15 times if that any inclination of how long the food took hahah

Usually we really enjoy St Kilda and it is our go to brunch spot. But lately the service and food has been spotty. For Mother’s Day we had one of the worst dining experiences. From being sat to our food arriving was over an hour. After taking our order, we did not see our server until the check was dropped. We had to send another server back to check on our food, because we had waited so long. We noticed other tables had already eaten and paid before our food was served. When the meals did arrive, everything was cold. Cold eggs and cold sandwiches, Yeay! Needless to say we were not happy, but very hungry due to the long wait. When we informed the server the food was cold, she didn’t even offer an apology and blamed the kitchen. I guess somehow they were responsible for getting the food to the table while it was still hot. Overall a very bad experience.

Our lattes and cocktails were delicious. They were super busy this morning and our food came out later than a few groups that arrived and ordered after us, but not a huge deal. Everyone was friendly - especially the host and the servers that helped us. Cool atmosphere. Casual, modern and lively. We ordered the chicken Schwarma bowl and the Avocado toast. The bowl was delicious: crispy, chewy pita with tender chicken and chewy Farro. The Avocado toast had a bit too much acidity going on (lemon juice in the mashed avocado and salsa topping). Presentation of food and beverages were good but quality/taste doesn't match the higher pricing IMHO.

In town on vacation, place looked cool so we stopped in. We sat near the kitchen window and bathrooms. Nice place, nice bathrooms. Food was pretty good! Baby changing table in the large one room bathroom was convenient. We would try it again. Not sure the girl working wanted us there but she cracked a smirk by the end. Also, loved the bacon. They were thick strips for once! 👍🏼🥓🍳

The falafel bowl was amazing with complex flavors and textures. I ordered the espresso which was nice, but was not served with complementary sparkling water. The atmosphere was great but our server made it feel less welcoming than I assume intended.

The food was AMAZING! Mimosas were strong! The only miss was the corn on the avocado toast was not charred as stated in the menu & it would have been a welcome improvement. Other than that, no complaints, whatsoever!

Always make a point to stop for brunch. Very good food not typical anywhere. They also change their menu so they keep it interesting. The wait is long for meals and cappuccinos, but the meals make up for it. Third visit for us and will be back.

Diverse menu and one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had.

She had the salmon and eggs and I had the pork belly Benedict. Her food wa shot and mine was barely warm. But a couple right next to us had the same exact and got their food almost at the same time and his pork belly was pipping hot. Might try again but was a slightly disappointed experience. No one even checked on us about our food so I couldn’t relay my concerns

We dined in and had a nice table. The waitress could not describe menu items very well and seldom stopped by our table to see if we needed anything. They were out of OJ, 2 menu entrées and Limes. However, we saw them making fresh OJ for the next day. Food was good quality. Take your chances.

I don’t recommend coming here if you’re looking for a bottomless (mimosa) brunch (the menu does have a bottomless mimosa option) (edited).

I am a flight crew member, so I get around and get to try many restaurants. St. Kilda is by far my favorite breakfast place. And they serve it all day, which is great for my schedule.

Such a unique modern hip cafe! I loved how worldly the menu was. The atmosphere was really nice, presentation of food was simple, and the place was clean. It was easy to find and when we got inside the restaurant was super busy, but they still accommodated quickly. I enjoyed going with my family. Points for having a changing table in the bathroom! We ordered a hot chocolate, chai tea, veggie sandwich, and I forgot the name of what my boyfriend got (sorry).

While the manager was great, he seemed to be the only employee that even cared. The three other servers were ambivalent and borderline rude. The food was pretentious and seems made for pics not enjoying. The glassware and silverware were dirty. Maybe one gluten free option and zero sugar free selections. We gave them a try because there weren't many Sunday options, but next time we'll just get Starbucks.

$18 for under cooked potatoes, over cooked salmon, the poached eggs tasted like vinegar and dirty glasses. This place is trying to charge 5 star prices with 2 star service. Literally besides the Australian coffee not a single thing I could say was enjoyable.

The flavors that this restaurant puts together for their dishes are incredible. I ordered a poached braised pork belly breakfast. I loved the pickled fennel, it such a unique touch to the dish. The pork was very dry. For the price of this plate I was expecting perfection. This is why I gave a four star.

This place hit the spot! Fabolous menu, super creative and tasty. Coffee is perfect. I recommend the Kimchi Reuben and the Australian Iced Coffee. Wife loved the Corn Fritters

I can't say enough about this place!! This restaurant far exceeds many other restaurants in the Des Moines area and sets the bar pretttyyy high. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The ambiance is like a high end chic hipster vibe. We made a reservation for 10am on a Saturday and our table was ready 5 mins before. The servers wait ALL tables which is amazing - if you need anything you can grab anyone and not have to find your waiter. They were attentive and always made sure our waters were full and we had everything we need without being over the top. I accidentally spilled my drink and they replaced it for free, and immediately helped clean up with the best disposition. Their food was delicious (salmon/poached eggs), their cranberry mimosa was super cute and also delicious, and their chai latte was stunningly made and, again, delicious 👌 Will be back again and again!
