Everything about this place is fabulous. Chilled latte was delicious, served in the coolest glass I've ever seen. Can we buy these? :) Even the extra details of the square, crystal clear ice cubes were a nice touch. The decor and style made for a sunny comfy spot to discuss business or chat with a friend. Can't wait to go back.
Amazing flavored lattes - love the cheerio and crunchberry. I rarely order sweet drinks at coffee shops because they are usually way too sweet and I find the artificial flavors overpower the coffee - this is not the case at Northern Vessel. They have just the right amount of sweetness and the flavors are natural and delicious. Great vibe in the shop and the people are always kind and helpful. My only (minor) complaint is that seating for a group can be a challenge. Otherwise spot on in every way.
Big fan of this spot. They have great coffee, and an incredible menu that includes teas, lemonades, and various craft canned and bottled drinks. They also usually have a good variety of fresh sweet and savory pastries and treats available. Seating is limited and pretty nontraditional for a coffee shop, highly communal raised areas in the windows, along with a central "bar" seating area where people are usually co-working and chatting. Just a handful of individual tables, and there are usually quite a few people hanging out when I stop in. I've never had an unpleasant experience after many visits, the entire staff is very friendly and welcoming, and excited to make you a great drink.

My latte was great. I tried the Cheerio. I'm giving it 4 stars for the following: they don't offer different sizes, I like my coffee really hot and it was more like a child's warm temperature, and they don't have skim milk. But if you want a delicious 12 ounce oat milk latte that won't burn your mouth, then this is 5 star delicious option!!

Smaller space, but cute interior. Staff was very nice and helpful. Great place to sit and get some work done on a laptop with a cup of coffee and a snack.
The matcha latte didn't taste blended well. The milk has its own flavor and texture separated from matcha.

Had the cheerio and cold brew and both were tasty. The interior was a dream. No problem finding street parking.
Try the Chagaccino. No other spot in DSM has this. Amazing taste. Maybe not a daily drink, but worth it at least once! Note that seating is somewhat limited, and a bit more communal in feel (not bad, just different).

Coffee, espresso, and special drinks were superb! I loved the attention to detail, including the nice plating of the espresso, hefty spoon, sparkling water, and even a flower garnish! The single free refill on the coffee was a nice surprise. I enjoyed their selection of pastries too, the everything croissant with cream cheese was delicious. Staff were extremely friendly too. Keep it up :)
I love Northern Vessel and I’m so glad they finally have a permanent coffee shop location! The coffee is amazing and everyone is always so friendly. I highly recommend checking it out!
I think I have tried every coffee shop in Des Moines. This is with out a doubt the best in town! I CRAVE their Cheerio lattes! Constantly. Their coffee is quality. Better than that are the people. Both the people who work there and they crowd this business attracts. TJ, their owner is salt of the earth!! The rest of the crew are just as great. Everyone there is kind, cheerful and seem to love their job. And the space? Come on....stunning!
