I gotta hand it to the staff for being able to handle the parents that bring their kids in to run wild while the parents play games and do nothing while their children terrorize the other customers. Running, yelling, banging on the piano. This is why we can't have nice things.

Awesome place to throw in some earbuds, have a little coffee and just get lost in a book. They have books on site for purchase or bring your own. Also have little snacks that are amazing and a great selection of coffee. Definitely a nice place to relax.

Such a cute, cozy, and comfortable place! I had 2 lattes and a biscotti and everything was delicious and super fairly priced. The baristas were so kind and there is a huge selection of books! Lots of places to sit and get work done or chat with friends. Definitely worth a visit!

Very cool used bookstore/coffeeshop. They also stock a small section of new books by local authors. Great prices on the books and a good selection. Coffee was fine.

I didn't think I'd find myself back in the part of Davenport for anything. I used to enjoy shopping at Greatest Grains before they closed in 2019 (specifically for bulk foods) and haven't stopped by since. This cafe was recommended to me by a good friend, however, so I resolved to come back and pay the place a visit. Eclectic would be the singular word to use to describe the space. There are shelves of books lining most of the walls throughout, with no real rhyme or reason to their organization. The prep area is prominently right by the entrance, lined on the outside by shelves of books as well. The space also features an upright piano right by the entrance, many board games along a wall further into the shop, and a stage-ish area near the back of the space. A faded wood floor (either by design or actual age) covers the entire space. The ceiling throughout is covered by a stucco/painted surface throughout, with a mix of recessed and accent lighting fixtures. There are additional lantern/centerpiece fixtures suspended in different places, all of which come together to give the space an added feeling of warmth. Definitely perfect for relaxing with a nice book for an hour or two or even possibly for a few hours of remote work. I opted for a green tea and the last remaining chocolate scone at the counter. The proprietor talked about the lack of baked goods largely resulting from a show the night prior. After sitting down down to enjoy my tea, a group came in and occupied one of the larger tables, seeming like a mom's group of sorts. I then relocated away from the comfy chair I occupied as another group occupied the other chair and couch in the general area, a large family of some sort. There's definitely some diversity in the patrons as well as the space itself, it seems. I'd say the variety of the space is my favorite part of the experience here. There aren't many places that are inexpensive where people come to just hang out and chill. This place has those vibes -

Best atmosphere of any coffee shop or book store in the QC. The owners completely transformed this building from a falling-down abandoned building into the nicest bookstore in the QC. It's always improving too, with a fireplace and more seating among the most recent additions. I'm not even a coffee drinker, but between hot chocolate and cream frappes there are plenty of non-coffee options. They've also got a rotating variety of pastries available.
