Please remember to drain the grease after cooking the sausage and chorizo before putting into a burrito. Totally disgusting to have tortilla soaked in grease. Takes five seconds.

Visiting CR for work and was pleasantly surprised. Really good breakfast bowl and coffee. If I leave a review somewhere, it’s top notch. Check this place out!

I'm going to preface this with the fact that I travel a lot for work. When I travel, I like to explore the locally-owned, small business options because they are usually the ones that make their craft with love. I didn't feel that when I visited Brewhemia last week. Maybe it's what we ordered or who was working in the kitchen on the morning of January 24th, but, none of the food or coffee was really anything to write home about. Both the avocado toast (which became more costly after I paid to add more toppings) and the breakfast bowl were so bland that my Dad and I had a difficult time choking them both down. And, we were so hungry! I'm talking so-plain that not even hot sauce can jazz it up. The food lacked seasoning but it's not food that can be saved by adding salt and pepper after it's cooked. The lattés were also quite unremarkable. We boxed up the food to eat later, hoping that some of the flavors will meld together and enhance one another but they didn't so we tossed them. I hate wasting food. I'm so disappointed because the restaurant is so beautifully put-together and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. I'll come back before my contract in Cedar Rapids is up and look forward to seeing what's different 🤞🏼

Coffee was delicious! I always worry about small coffee shops having overly bitter drinks and they weren’t bitter at all. Had the white mocha and the bohemian and they were the perfect. Will definitely stop again when back in town!

Nicest people and food you could ask for. We are not frequent but they still remember us.

2022: This has become my favorite breakfast spot and our go-to when guests are in town. Yes, it's noisy and busy; the wait for food on weekends can take up to 30 minutes. However, it's worth the wait. Try breakfast tacos or breakfast bowls made your way with meats or veggies or both. Baked goods are tasty but not 5* worthy. Don't let your hot tea steep too long or it will be bitter: they use 4x more loose leaf tea than us needed. I'm not a latte person, but half-caff Americano and brewed coffees are fine. They took adequate precautions and communicated well in social media during the worst of Covid and because of that I'd give 6* if I could. 2019: Beautiful space, plenty of tables and seats at counters. Very young but friendly staff. Busy on the Sunday I was there (twice). Coffee is meh. Cherry coffee cake had about three cherries and was dry.

Not really sure what all the hype is about when it comes to this place. I've ordered from here a handful of times and its either good (not great) or really bland. The breakfast seems to be a little better than the lunch. I ordered the lunch burrito a while back and it had zero taste. No seasonings at all. My latest attempt was their grilled chicken sandwich. I asked for it without jalapenos. What I received was a chicken sandwich cut in half. On one half, it was piled with jalapenos, on the other half instead of jalapenos...sliced carrots. What?? Sliced carrots? On a grilled chicken sandwich? That definitely wasnt a listed ingredient.

One of my favorite breakfast places. Coffee and the environment is cool. There's lots of things to do in the area. Food is amazing. Pictured is the build your own bowl (sausage, bacon, potato, cheese, green peppers.) Coffee pictured is The Bohemian.

While the kids are at Grandma's, my husband and I had a date at Brewhemia and tried the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant. It was flaky, perfectly cooked eggs and bacon, melty cheese, and all the flavors were soooooo good! Great recommendation from my brother! Oh! And the cherry crumble looked amazing. It mostly tasted like oatmeal. But still worth the try!

My favorite coffee shop in CR! I frequent this place for its tasty eats. The staff are friendly and the vibes of the shop are so positive. My faves: the Bohemian, the egg and cheese croissant, burrito, and the cookies (especially the one with sprinkles). Love spending time here!

I am so grateful to this place. I went after just freshly arriving in Cedar Rapids from out of town, and felt immediately welcomed. I was helped by two different people to help make my order. They were patient with my indecisiveness and as friendly as could be. Not to mention the food was absolutely delicious (veggie melt and grilled chicken salad). It was a perfect welcome to the city and I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
