Our experience at this restaurant for breakfast two days ago was extremely disappointing and not worth the money spent. The blueberries served alongside our dish were unwashed and overly ripe, which was quite off-putting. The quality of the crepe was subpar and did not meet our expectations. Additionally, the fresh fruit provided as a side was far from fresh, lacking the desired flavor. The avocado toast lacked any distinctive taste and felt too simplistic. However, we did appreciate the positive ambiance and good vibes of the environment, which was the only redeeming aspect of our visit.
Great food and atmosphere. Wait staff were friendly. We had to wait a while for our meals, but on graduation weekend, we figured this would happen. Parking is close by. Located on the 1st floor. Easy to see, located on a corner lot. All of our meals were very tasty. I would come again.
When you order a burger, you expect the regular toppings of lettuce, tomato, cheese, and maybe onion and a side of fries or something of your choice. All i got was an extremely dry and overcooked beef patty with buns and cheese and a salad (greens and oil). Beef patty was not seasoned at all. Thankful for the water because without it, i would have choked from the dryness. For $16 i expected way more. My friend had the fettuccine, pasta was undercooked, chicken had no seasoning (not a speckle of pepper or anything), and sauce was thin and flavorless. When you have to ask for salt, then you know it’s bland. $18 is absolutely insane for bland pasta and chicken. Service was fast and good. Drinks were great. Next time i would stop by for drinks and skip the food.
Lose a star because they fail to ask me how I want my tea brewed. Sometimes it isn’t how the tea is supposed to be brewed by the book, but how the customer likes it.
charming cafe! i ordered a crepe which was delicious as well as a latte. i love the decor and the music and would definitely come again. my only gripe is that the service was a bit slow
Favorite hangout place in Ames! Has changed quite a bit from when we used to visit and now has s bar!
Fantastic time here on a Saturday morning. Most other places we went were too busy or offered little to no seating. Food was good and prepared fast. It was nice to have some breakfast and lunch options for those who go around brunch and no longer think breakfast. Cute aesthetic and nice place to work, meet friends, just grab a bite.
Pretty expensive. A normal black coffee was $5 without any syrup, cream or sugar. Atmosphere is good, I just wish it were cheaper.
This place was super nice! When the option is available I always prefer to support local. I came on a day in which there were clearly a lot of people there and only two workers. These two workers were efficient friendly and did their best to accommodate everyone's needs. Though, understandably it wasn't extremely fast. Their coffee was delicious though not overly sweet.
Excellent menu and service. Great location close to campus. Highly recommend the avocado toast. Will definitely visit again.
Bar La Tosca will always have a special place in my heart. I love the pasta here, I miss the lamb fusilli especially.
I like going here to pick up coffee or to sit and work for a bit during the day. They close down later in the afternoon to convert to the Italian restaurant. The staff are friendly and quick and the coffee is very good quality.
Salad very good. My party loved the coffees. The broccoli cheddar soup was weak. Cheesy water with chunks of broccoli.....disappointing.
The coffee was delicious! The biscuits and gravy was more like biscuit and gravy, but was very tasty. We had a few issues with our service, and the gravy to biscuit portion was a bit much. Overall very yummy!
The food is always fantastic! I have always had good service while here.
Absolutely great service, our server was Aspen, they got to us very quickly, we're very friendly, food was great, and they were very accommodating and got our food made just how we wanted it!
Met friends for lunch, sat inside because it was windy and hot. Nice comfortable place, great lunch menu and food was wonderful. Service was spot on.
Phenomenal tasting ! Most creative biscuits and gravy I’ve ever tasted! It deserves an award!
Food is great service was good. we had a large party for my daughter graduation it took a long time to get our food but when it came out everyone said how much they liked the food.
I had the steak sandwich, it was amazing. The cook was perfect and the flavor was awesome. My wife and daughter had the lemon crape’s, the only thing that would have made them better, would have been a lemon cream/custard/butter. My wife also got the tomato bisque, it had the consistency of puréed pumpkin. It was eatable, but would never order it again. My daughter got the chia tea, she thought it was amazing. Finished the meal with tiramisu, it was really good, and very boozy. Overall, a good experience and good food.
