I ordered the pork belly sandwich, it was original, well prepared, and very fresh (from the bread to the toppings) the salad was good but the sandwich was amazing! Server was helpful and friendly. Even the tea was good.
Usually a great experience, but this past one wasn't the best. Not bad, I just ha e high expectations now!
My friend group of 7 and I got to Provisions a few minutes before they officially "closed" at 8 PM, but figured we'd ask if they would serve us. The manager left me utterly shocked by stating that it would be no problem and that we would be more than welcome to come in! Our dinner ended at 9 PM, and there was no mean-looks, hurried service, or anything out of the ordinary. Not only did they provide stellar service and food, but they went above and beyond and stayed open way later than they had to. Definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had!
We came here for brunch on Mother's Day. We used the online waitlist and didn't even have to wait! The food was delicious, and our server was great. Will definitely be coming back!
What an awesome experience, the food, service and atmosphere were perfect, classy and casual and privately tucked away in our own booth! Will definitely recommend and be back! The drinks were amazing too!
When I eat out, I love to experience new things, and I am always able to do that here. The menu is always updating which is fun. There is always something new to try if you want to, and if you don't, they nail down the basic foods as well. Fun spot!
This place has its clientele, I'm sure, but it's not me. I got the feeling it focuses on vegetarian options. Expensive salads and bean burgers. The place is very trendy and the staff was wonderful, it's just not my kind of food. I'm more meat and potatoes 🙂
What a rare treat in the otherwise bleak food desert of Ames Iowa. The Korean Brussels sprouts were amazing.
Excellent food and service! Chris was are server and took great care of us!
Nice upscaled diner experience. However the menu is quite limited. So it seems it could be a good way to really showcase the restaurant creations. But breakfast was good but not excellent. Omelette looked like it was made in a mass production environment. Brussel salad had mostly iceberg pieces, Nothing wrong but more was expected from this place.
Sat at the bar for a beer and dinner. The food was well done and delicious. Very comfortable atmosphere for a cozy dinner.
Great restaurant with an eclectic and changing menu. All dishes are very well presented and delicious. Good selection of desserts.
This was my first time getting dinner at provisions and I was very impressed! I got the Brussels sprouts salad and it was delicious. The veggies were crispy and the chicken (added separately) was very well cooked. The daily bread appetizer was good. I liked the “everything bagel” dip that came with it. Provisions is my go-to spot for brunch and now, it’ll definitely be one of my top places for dinner in Ames.
Excellent fine dining at a reasonable cost with generous proportions. Provisions has become my go-to when I visit the Iowa State Research Park.
I haven't been here for years as we're never in Ames. Decided to drive up for a Valentines Day lunch outing. Had cocktail s and salads. Both were excellent! The Cherry Crisp dessert was the best we've ever had! Ate at the bar and our server was awesome!
Service is good maybe depending how busy they are. Food is okay. I love their dessert though.
Probably one of the best spots in Ames if you're looking for atmosphere. Perfect amount of darkness and booth seating to create a romantic night. The rotating menu always has a good option for anyone with a diverse set of choices. I had the pork loin which was excellent but the bacon crust was slightly salty. I have previously had their breakfast offerings which are also amazing! My only real complaint is the location lacks character and is a little inconvenient to get to.
Provisions is definitely one of my favorite restaurants! Not only is the food amazing, but the desserts are out of this world! I especially love the provisions burger and crispy potatoes! I have loved every single dessert I have tried, but have got to let everyone know how delicious the tuxedo cake and chocolate flourless cake are! Not only is everything delicious, but the presentation and detail is truly beautiful. The atmosphere is nice and the employees are so nice and friendly. Thank you all so much for providing such wonderful dishes, truly one of a kind!
Food is decent but pricey. I expected the dishes would be well-crafted and seasoned with moderate level, the pork tenderloin was too salty. Three of us finished every drop of two bottle of water. Burger is good, juicy, and less sauce-y making the meat flavor stranded out. Cod, as waitress introduced as freshly caught as it can, felt a bit of tension between the meat fibers. I am not sure it was due to the fact of the freshness or the cooking method. But I really enjoyed the taste of the sauce in the cod dish and fried bacon. It’s awkward that my friend and I had to ask the front desk for pens to sign the bills.
I had the Brussels Sprout Caesar Salad, which was very good. Lunchtime was busy but still quiet enough for conversation. The staff was attentive and polite. I will definitely be visiting again!
