40 minutes for a BLT. Ended up with a refund because it was not done. So much for my hour lunch. Absolutely no excuse for this. *edit. It was a drive through order. If you cannot prioritize single meals over full tickets to expedite your business you're failing at food service. I've cooked, and I've served. If that is your policy you're choosing to lengthen your cook times and waste man hours for nothing but loss. No restaurant I've ever worked in would choose to ignore an order that takes up 6 square inches of grill space or 30 seconds in a deep fryer because of other tickets before it. Especially FOR A DRIVE THROUGH. You really cannot manage your orders and timing so much that you are only capable of serving tickets in the order you put them in? Who are you lying to? What kind of kitchen are you running??.
Food was amazing, and the customer service is top notch!
We had Mother's Day lunch. It was soo delicious! The waitress was amazing. She was very friendly and nice. We took home some extra bakery items. Everything was fantastic. Great experience.
We were excited to visit. We were very disappointed with the food. It was okay. I didn't buy any bakery because it did not look appealing in the showcase 😕. That is what out group was excited about and we were let down.
The service was incredible! It was really busy when we went in, yet the staff was patient and extremely friendly. The chicken was rather greasy, but still delicious.
They have people in there that's a little bit more friendlier than what they used to be I mean they always been friendly but even more now
The worst experience! The young blond lady with multiple piercings behind the cash register/counter hands down has been the rudest person we have encountered. Not friendly environment at all…although customers were very nice!My husband/ his family has been going here for over 60 years. When I asked if they had anything gluten free, I was told nothing there was gluten free and then I saw a roll on the menu that was listed gluten free and asked if they had any…she snapped “yes”.Then I asked is it a sweet roll like a cinnamon roll or? And she said rudely “it’s a roll”. I asked I just wasn’t sure if it was a roll to put butter on it or? And she said it’s a roll. They also charge 32 cents for a cup of ice. Odd because we were eating in. I could have had it in a mug , but it was because of the cost of the cup. And then when my husband went to get his two donuts to go, the other waitress let the girl know that he was at the counter and she was very obvious to say I know and did nothing about it made him wait. Then threw the donuts in the bag with a scowl. When he did receive the Donuts, He proceeded to walk out the door and throw them in the garbage. We will not give those donuts to his daughter three hours from here when the people we just paid $27 to treated us like dirt. For no reason. We always come into any establishment being polite and friendly and usually also talk to customers there. Unbelievable.
This place is a Gem!! It's been here over a century and it is fascinating. The food tastes like grandma made it!!! The baked goods are to die for!!! And the prices are so reasonable. I can't believe I waited so long to eat here. I can't recommend it enough!! Go there now!! Order one of everything!! Go!!
Excellent spot and great pies. The only complaint is that the place is always full of customers, but that is for a very good reason... Call ahead and give good notice for a take out order and they'll greatly appreciate it!
Food was great, not too little, worth your money
I’m moving across the country, stopped in at one of my favorite high school spots while staying in Illinois. They still got it that’s for sure! I got myself a latte and a breakfast sandwich, tipped 27% and it was still only $15. That’s way cheaper than Starbucks, and my food was made with care and was so good! Kimberly was so nice at the window and saw I was moving, told me to be safe. Very sweet girl.
Excellent breakfast shoes! Awesome pastries! Very pleasant staff!
Went there on a recommendation, its ok. Just a very small greasy spoon. Food was okish. We had breakfast. I ordered a breakfast horseshoe. It was just ok. Not bad, nothing i would rave about. My friend had french toast and he said it was very bland. Would i stop agian? Meh.
Based on some of the reviews, we were looking forward to a, hand crafted experience. We found that if the pastries don’t come off of the food distributors truck, for some reason they’re made to taste like they do. We tried 2 of their recommended specialties from the baked goods case, a flakey puff pastry and a cinnamon roll. The pastry seemed stale and we brought it to the attention of a team member at the register. She apologized and happily replaced it. It’s substitute wasn’t better, and we just gave up. The cinnamon roll also seemed stale, and had an ingredient we couldn’t pinpoint that seemed out of place. For our meal we ordered one biscuit & gravy and the Texas Burger. Again the alleged store baked biscuit seemed off, and the gravy didn’t have the taste of being freshly made. No flavor and maybe even no sausage? The burger was nothing special, but it was tasty and we were happy to split it. Over all, the vibe and the environment was great! Very friendly and busy. We just figured that maybe this is just some thing regional as this restaurant/bakery has been around a long time and still seem to do quite well. I think it’s just not for us. We’re glad we tried it, but feel there is no return trip needed.
I miss preCOVID Jubelt's service. The system is very impersonal.
Got the whitefish dinner last night for the family. Wasn't that great. The fish was a bit stale, like they made a lot at a time and it just sat there. The slaw was absolutely disgusting. 1 order was missing a side. The green beans were good, but for a lent special, probably they shouldn't have bacon in them. The pie it.... for a bakery it was not good at all. I wish y'all made your own donuts.. I miss the days I could get fresh in town. But I know y'all get them from melocreme, I've seen the boxes, you need find out why they appear stale at times. Also your decorated cookies those are to thin lately. They lack flavor. I still stop by for salads often but not for baked goods
Coffee was hot. Service good. pastries ok
We are traveling from out of state and decided to eat here because of the good reviews, but I wouldn’t eat here again. My food was mediocre at best for $15, not to mention I was charged .30 cents for water! The staff was nice enough but the food was not worth the hype in my opinion.
Popular place when we stopped for Sunday lunch! Lots of options to choose from. Save some budget to get treats to enjoy now and later from the baked goods
We have visited Jubelt's a handful of times while passing through for breakfast and had a great experience so we decided to invite some family to meet for lunch (table of 5). We arrived around 11:45am and the place was packed, nothing uncommon as it's very popular! We found a table, grabbed a menu for a look, then jumped in line to order. We placed the order at 12pm and were told 45 min as they are busy. We understood and were fine with this. We placed a 20% tip at the time of ordering. We ordered an appetizer as they typically come out before your meal thinking maybe this would come out before the 45 min mark. Even if it didn't that would be fine, but still before the food. While we waited we watched table after table finish up and leave. Many of these tables of 2 came in after we did and had the same dishes we ordered. The couple beside us even apologized to us that they had come in, eaten, and were leaving while we hadn't seen a plate. After 50 minutes of waiting we went to check in and see how the order was coming. We also felt the app was going to come with the food so we asked, if it hadn't been made, could we please take it off of the order. We were told the food was done and they were going to bring it out. Great! The food arrived and only one of the 5 plates were warm. A hot ham & cheese was cold, the appetizer was cold, the burger with extra toppings ordered only had cheese. We took it for what it was and ate. When we finished we asked if we could speak to a manager. A supervisor came to our table and had no remorse since we were told we would have a long wait. The wait was not the issue. The issue is waiting, then the food coming out cold. We simply wanted our tip back as we felt it was not deserved, 1 by the service we experienced and 2 by the fact that there really is no one servicing you other than bringing out your food. We understood this going in. The supervisor sent the owner to talk to us. Not once was "sorry" said. We were
