We ordered two cold brews and ask for one to be “no room” cuz one of us didn’t want ice. The cashier said “that’s kinda shady but that’s fine”. ??? I thought asking for leaving no room was industry standard. It’s not like we would pour some in the trash and waste it. Bad attitude!
Around 9am Friday is not too busy. The place has lots of seating. I had a large drip coffee and a lemon, ginger scone. Both were good, especially the scone, lots of ginger which I like.
I've been visiting this cafe for at least seven years, and I love it. Its a nice place to work, meet up with friends, and it also has some really good coffee. Would definitely recommend.
Great place to get cold brewer! Staff and management was great.
the atmosphere is great, the breakfast sandwiches are delicious, and the servers are welcoming :) i really enjoy coming here to study
I ordered an iced matcha latte and a cold brew. The matcha was not very good, in fact it had an off taste. The cold brew was not particularly noteworthy, didn’t seem like your standard cold brew. The restroom here was… something. There wasn’t toilet paper or paper towels to dry your hands. I get the appeal of hanging out at this coffee shop, but personally not for me.
great coffee and nice selection of non-dairy alternatives and sugar free flavors. The red headed person that’s always working when i come here is particularly nice and helpful. i like the staff here a lot!
The food and beverages are great but the prices are just through the roof. Overall good!
Good cafe, lots of space!! Nice corners with plants to study or enjoy coffee. Ordered a latte - it was slightly strong but good. Or May be because it was my second coffee for the morning!! Also great selection of eats - worth a try!
The teas and tea lattes are better than the coffees if you are ordering a hot drink, but the ambience is wonderful to sit and work.
Just tried Cafe Kopi out today and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was very polite and my chai latte was great. I loved the huge study room. The bathroom was a little under kept and while I liked my drink it was a little pricey, but I thought it was a nice accent to the time I spent studying there. Will be coming back!
the coffee is great, always have really good seasonal drinks and the baristas frequently come up with new ideas. hands down best hot chocolate in town. however, beyond the hummus pita, the food is very, very, very average. i have tried multiple dishes, including salads, wraps, and pitas, and i see the tiny overpriced portion size mixed with not always fresh vegetables and flavors to be desired. i have had trouble trying to get my friends back here a second time for some brunch. never again honestly, but expect a returning customer for the delicious and refreshing caffeinated beverages. very commonly occupied by studying students.
Absolutely love the new look at kopi! The staff is wonderful and I am very happy with everything they are doing for future plans, to continue to allow kopi to shine even brighter!
Ordered a breve latte and got a coffee with cream ( not anything like a breve latte I’ve ever had anywhere else). Also the breakfast sandwich was tasteless and mostly bagel. The person I was with had a chai latte that tasted like water with chai flavoring.
I loved this place, but the quality of the food has definitely declined since the pandemic. I don't know if it is the staff turnover or something else, but I paid $9 for some sad wilted lettuce and two small scoops of egg salad - they didn't even give me any dressing. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident, but the last few orders I've gotten here have been the same. This used to be my favorite place to get lunch and work, but I can't justify the price for consistently disappointing food.
Absolutely delightful stop on a long drive. Staff were gracious and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I impulse bought beans as well that i am still enjoying. 10/10 would recommend.
Loved the coffee invading my breath as I walked into this welcoming cafe. Unpretentiousness at its best. They were kind enough to brew strong coffee on request. Friendly host. Seating is plenty inside.
This is a wonderful local cafe that has been around for a long time. I am not a coffee drinker, but I am assured that it tastes good here. Has all the normal offerings, plus some food options. I would give it a knock on atmosphere because it's personally not somewhere I want to stay for long periods of time. There is not any real comfortable seating and only one bathroom. It seems a little hard to navigate if you were in a wheelchair.
A great place to study for hours, really nice bagel sandwiches. I love sitting here before an upcoming train ride out of Champaign, it's a stone throw from the Amtrak and Greyhound station.
Stick with the drip coffee or a cup of tea. I hoped my first bad experience was a fluke or due to staffing issues. I got my food order 22 minutes before my coffee. I completely finished my food before my drink was complete. I had to remind the staff that I ordered a drink. (Latte). My second experience I ordered and paid for 3 drinks. First was a London Fog that was was over sweetened with pump sugar and milk was steamed into oblivion and shad separated into a sludge on top. I got back in line and ordered and paid for a new drink with no sweeteners. The milk was also burnt and separated. Way too much milk. I got back in line and paid for a drip coffee. All in I spent 23 minutes standing in line. Save yourself the cash and frustration. Starbucks makes better coffee than this place. The food is pretty good. I won't be coming back to to this Champaign staple. Kopi is a far cry from what it used to be 9 years ago. 11/10 hard pass.
